USA Made - Sharp as a Swiss Army Knife with a thicker blade!
This knife was a complete and utter surprise to me, and in a good way. For roughly $18 you will receive a two bladed carbon steel knife that is as sharp as a Swiss Army knife with a heavier duty blade. It's oily out of the package and for good reason, it's carbon steel. Some people may frown on the scales of the knife, but this is a SOLID work knife. Klein Tools continually surprise me with the level of quality products they produce.

This is the most useful knife you can own.
My father used this knife for 40 years. I always wanted one. Some say the Swiss Army knife is the most useful but this Klein knife can do anything and is so strong as a tool for the working man! I use mine everyday!!

Stainless, not carbon
I bought this just to have a TL-29 style knife in my collection and have since gotten a vintage example to go with it. The Klein Tools knife seems to often be advertised as carbon steel for the 1550-2 and stainless for the 1550-42. The 1550-2 now seems to be stainless, I assume the 1550-42 was discontinued and they just started making the 1550-2 in stainless. Overall, this knife would be nice if you want a user but don't want to risk breaking or losing a surplus or vintage TL-29.

Tough
At 15 years old my father bought me one of these knives to have in my pocket 24/7; I was working as a laborer with the hopes of becoming a carpenter. 35 years later I still use it as my favorite pocket knife. I used it for years as a carpenter, as an electrician, as an engineer and finally now as a company president [weekends around the house]. Its hard to find a great product that lasts; this one really is perfect. Its very simple with only a knife and a flat head screw driver but,...that's all you need 95% of the time. This is a great product.

Terrible Replacement!
I used one of these as an electrician every day, it was given to me when I started my apprentice ship and it finally met its demise. This knife is made in China, the blade isn’t even marked like the one I’m replacing. This knife uses horrible fitted together pieces and such thin brass where there used to be much more and no brass locking tab for the driver blade, rough edges everywhere, and it’s stainless! Absolute garbage. The decline in Klein is unbelievable! If I could buy it somewhere else I would!

long experience
I rebuild old houses. 35 years ago, I bought 2 of these. One got crushed (I forget how), plastic jacket broke and pin at one end came loose. The other I still have. One or the other has been in pocket of my work pants since I bought them. It is built to last. For me, this is a must have tool. If I misplace it, I look for it until I find it.
