The Doberman Pinscher (Book & DVD)

This is a fantastic book on dobermans. It has top notch information on training, and their personality, and everything else. Also it has great pictures as well. Love this book.

Great if you are getting a Doberman, better to read it before buying the dog, this dog is really active and not for everyone.My dog is 95 pounds, really smart but hard to train, they want their way only, you have to convince then that you are the alpha and not him, but they are faithful dogs, great watch dogs and they play a lot, lots of energy.The book does not go really deep into raising or training the dog but it gives you a good start.

Generally, the same information as we've already had in the past, but it's great to have the reaffirmation of the skills needed to have a successful puppy-to-dog experience.the DVD is general 'dog' info from puppy to home and more. No breed specific.

A great Doberman book with a great deal of information and photos that are helpful to new or experienced owners.

General book about Dobermans as a whole. I would have liked more in-depth reading.

Good book, Love that it is a hard cover. We purchased this book to research the Doberman before we purchase a puppy next year. It is very informative. Maybe too much details for some.

Based on the reviews I thought this was a "must have" book for the Doberman owner. I hindsight, this book would be ideal for someone THINKING about getting this breed. It covers a lot of history, preparing for puppies, breeders, house sitters, limited training and behavior section (which is what I really wanted more info on) and some stuff about vaccines, diseases and stress etc...just a bunch of stuff that I did not care about knowing or knew already. Otherwise, it will be very informative for the prospective Dobe owner and it had lots of little doggy pictures everywhere. Overall, it's a good book for its intended purpose/audience but just not what I needed/expected.

I rearly leave reviews on amazon... However i was so impressed with this book i thought it would be rude not too!We are getting our first doberman this summer and this privided a fantastic wealth of knowledge from history of the breed, training, feeding even too keeping your dog clean etc.
