Nice Summary of the Game, but Adds Very Little to the Overall Story
My first Assassin's Creed novel was Forsaken and perhaps reading that one first set the bar a little high. Oliver Bowden seemed comfortable and free in that environment and in a way he was, since Haytham Kenway was still somewhat of a mystery after the AC3 game proper. I acknowledge that because the events in Revelations were already played out in-game, the author had very little leeway to create something new. That said, there are still a few things that I found wanting in the book overall.Even though Revelations takes place primarily in the sights and sounds of Istanbul, I found that the framework was surprisingly lacking. The book takes place in a location that, even today, sparks the imagination with culture and wonder. In the game, I felt as if Istanbul itself was a living, breathing character around Ezio, unique and all its own. The book, conversely, spent very little time on the setting, which surprised me. I was also surprised by the utter lack of new story or even narrative flow in this book. It felt almost mechanical at times. In my head, rather than picturing the events taking place in the book I was reading, I was picturing the author playing the game, pressing pause, and writing down what he'd just done on the screen. The effect is that events and dialogue feel choppy in a lot of places where central story should have flown easily. Because of the choppy narrative, Ezio suffers as a character too. Book Ezio never seems to have that certain charisma that the in-game character had in excess. The bottom line is that the book was a good way for me to pass a long wait in an airport, but if you've played the game, this book will not add any story elements or intriguing new thoughts to the Assassin's Creed universe.

Ahh Assassins Creed at its finest
It was great, just like the video game just, obviously, in book form. It had all the death and blood that everyone expected once they played the game. Also the love and friendship that was encountered throughout the game.

Christmas present
I bought these for my dad who is a huge fan of assassin's creed. These books are some of his favorites so I had to buy him more of the art for Christmas. Can't wait to give it to him.

Love it!
These books were bought as a bundle for myself. I am a huge fan o the Assassin's Creed series, and am very interested in the books and video games! I have bought just about everything AC related from Amazon, and all products have been in brand new condition and arrived exactly when they said they would.

It's a killer !
I have to say that initially I was skeptical about how a video game and novel tie-in would work. Let's just say that my skepticism was unwarranted. I loved this book.Admittedly, I join the Assassin's Creed books a little late in the series but I have already developed a liking for the character of Ezio Auditore through the video games themselves. Interestingly, I'm playing the Revelations game now and I think my enjoyment is enhanced by my foreknowledge from this book. This tale is told a little later on in Ezio's life and continues to detail the developments of the Assassins and their Creed. Lots of interesting characters along the way and some interesting new developments in regards to weaponry and technqiue. Oliver Bowden spins a good tale around the framework he had to work with - I guess there must have been a story of sorts during the games' development. I'm not sure which came out first though, the book or the game in this instance. It's a clever storyline to be involved with because there are layers of story amongst story that themselves could quite easily get developed into further novels, I believe.I've got some previous books to catch up on, methinks

Keeps getting better
OK so the books mostly copy the narrative from the game, but there are large sections that are original and unique. Towards the end, although I'm not even halfway through the book, it fills in the gap from when you finish the game, right through to his old age, and if I'm still gripped by that point then there's no doubt this guy is a very involving writer. I have the other 3 books in the series as well as all the PS3 games and I can't get enough of it right now, looking forward to the next book hopefully this year when the next game is released. No reason why there won't be a book.

Arrived in good order and on time.
An enthralling read. Sadly no more in the series by this author.

Epic Tale brought closer by this book
I am a huge fan of the assassin's creed series. I have played all the games. However in the games you can get distracted from what you characters objectives actually are. With the books this doesn't happen. You have such a great navigator in Oliver Bowden that he simply brings you back to the fold. The game can only tell you so much but with the book it expands the whole universe to another plane! For this reason it gets top marks from me

Love IT!
Played all the games and love the story behind the game, These books really do fill in those gaps you feel you are missing between the games, this book is nice and easy to read (well written) i am a big fan of Ezio this book really finishes the character well, ACR didn't do a good job at ending Ezios story, well done for this book. bring on Conner in AC3 :)
