U.S. Military Working Dog Training Handbook Kindle Edition

I have never written a review before but this book warrants a review because it is so much better than any other dog training/care book I have ever read( and as a certified dog trainer, I have read and studied dozens). This book has EVERYTHING any person needs to care for and train any dog but particularly a high drive dog like the Malinois. I feel like now I can throw ALL the other dog books away and just read this one!!! A superb, fantastic, well written book with clear step by step instructions on not only how to train but also detailed information about why the particular training works so well. This is book is absolutely required for any dog owner or trainer; it is absolutely necessary for any serious dog lover. How the military produced this kind of superb writing is incomprehensible; but they did and every dog lover should be very, very thankful.

I really appreciated this book. I had a trainer tell me about it and I read it in a few days. The first aid part is good info to know for sure. But they go in depth about training methods that you can mix and match to fit your dog's learning style. Very helpful.

Book covered basics on allmost everything I wanted to know on working dog training. A lot of subjects here! I haven-t even scratched the medical part wich seems allmost half of the book and missing on allmost every other dog training book. When I come back to check something It's sometimes hard to find/locate, for me the table of context is little miss leading/weirdly organized but that's a minor. It even includes some problem solving! On that note, If there was more of that with variety of scenarios and topics on how military exercises the dogs and maybe exambles of a day of mwd and or handlers It would be 5 star book, but also it would easily be 1000 pages more so... To this day this is the best all around dog training guide I've found. There was also not much, if at all on tracking training if I recall correctly, but for that I find other help/books anyway. Book gives good idea on Basic structure on training a dog.

The title is deceiving. They should remove the word "Training", because it tells you what training they go through, but the title makes it sound like the book would tell you HOW to train your dog to be a MWD. There is no training steps at all on "How" to teach any commands.

This book is for someone in the military working with MWD. It appears to be part of an academic course for handlers. I was looking more for a book to train my dog in some of the techniques used in MWD training, i.e. commands, agility, etc....I am ex USAF & am aware of the training done for MWD. I was hoping this was a book on that training, not just part of an academic course. Somewhat misleading.Good for someone who has or is going to go through the training. Not for anybody else.

It's a good book if it's your first read on attack dogs. I've read several other books on attack dogs then I read this one and I felt like I've read it all before.

Being retired military and owning a Belgian Malinois this book provided some good insight. Not all of it will apply obviously, but its good to have regardless.

It’s a very informative book, but be aware, you will not wind simple tips. It’s more about how to safe your dog’s life in harsh situations.

Pretty complete it seems and outlines plenty of seemingly good theory. Thanks
