Nice Kit for Doing This Experiment
Works well for doing electrical experiments such as the fruit battery. Students had fun. Pretty easy to make work if you follow instructions. Also fairly inexpensive, which is good because I only get a few sessions out of them. It has lots of little pieces which tend to disappear. No one is taking them, but the parts tend to get mixed up between individual kits and one may have an excess while the other is missing parts. Cheaper to buy replacements than to spend my time sorting through the kits.

Works well
My child had a school project to preform and this set helped to make it possible. All pices worked well and aided in the discovery of electricity function for my child.

5th grade Science Fair made easy!
This product was inexpensive and simple to set up with your fruits/vegetable that you choose to use. We did lemons. Following the easy set up, we had the included LED light working in only a few minutes. We also powered on the included clock. My son used this kit for his 5th grade science experiment. He received many compliments!

Works fine for a fun test of concept
I teach 3rd grade science. My students read about this is in a book and wanted to try it. I brought it in and hooked it up to four lemons. It powered the clock with no issues, but the lights did not work well. I’m not sure what the issue was but the light barely emitted a small blink and went out. One recommendation is that when you insert the clips into the large blades that go in the fruits/vegetables, you need to hammer them down or crimp them with pliers to get good contact so that they work, otherwise it’s a hot mess.

Did not work
None of the light bulbs would light up. The clock worked but NONE of the 4 included light bulbs worked. Very disappointing.

Maybe I had defective potatoes?
Before attempting the potato experiment we parboiled the potatoes to make the electric current pass easier as well as strengthening the salt bridge. However, the light only flickered for a millisecond at best. The clock worked a lot better. Over all it was a fun experiment but not effective at lighting the bulb so it was a little lack luster, but it's probably due to human error.
