Makes your feet cute again!
This is a long way review so please forgive the writer and crusader in me! I get passionate about products that really work the way it says it should! A few years ago I broke my second toe which now has a raised knuckle and has not yet gone back to the way it was. I went to my doctor and said, “I know that this is really shallow of me, with all of the tragedy in the world and much worse things that I’ve been through, but I can’t handle the fact that my foot will never be cute again in sandals.” He has a great sense of humor and appreciates my jokes. I was joking because I was embarrassed to be worried about such a small thing. He laughed and told me not to worry so I ended up ordering this product. It is not just for looks that I bought this product because it does help heal by very gradually stretching that shortened, damaged ligament. But you must wear it all the time so I also wear in running shoes and closed toe high heels. But in sandals, it is just what I needed! It is flesh colored and the elastic holds my toe down where it should be so it really looks nice with sandals. (Be sure to test the tightness.. too tight is not good for circulation and too loose won’t help... you will get used to what is perfect for you and you won’t even know you were wearing it.). I love how it works in sandals! I mean if somebody took a closer look they would see the elastic strap over the toe, but there’s no reason for anyone to want to take a closer look at your toes (unless they are 😜). The only problem is that the underneath flat part tends to slide out to the side and show when you are wearing sandals. But, AHA, I discovered a cure for this! I set it up where it needs to be. Then I put a SMALL spot of super glue under the center of the pad to secure it to the insole of my shoe. A small spot makes it very easy to just pull it out when you want to wash it or transfer it to a different shoe. Then another small spot on the next shoe. I actually have about three pairs of different colors that I wear in the summer. So I just glue one to my right shoe in each pair. I never have to remove the pad just for changing shoes. Because I rotate the shoes and try and stay out of the mud 😉, I don’t have to remove very often for washing either. AND I told my friend who has two arthritic bent toes side-by-side. She uses the double elastic product and it works equally well. The longer you leave a damaged or arthritic toe in that shape the harder it will be to actually correct it but even if it’s been a while, it will still look a lot better! Try soaking your feet In hot Epsom salts and massage the toes to relax the ligament before you put your shoes on. That’s just really good for your feet (and your hands massaging the toes) anyway to start your day with happy toes. If you think that this is just all too much trouble then I’m pretty sure you don’t have happy feet. It’s a well-known scientific fact, discovered by the Chinese for many centuries that there is a definite connection between your feet and your head.

Brilliant design but platform not built stiff enough to work - a simple modification however fixes it completely.
Of all the toe-straightening devices this one is the superior design. It can be worn inside a shoe and it can be 100% effective in straightening a FLEXIBLE hammer toe when slightly modified. The problem is with the flat platform part -- it's way too soft. When you tighten the loop enough to straighten the toe, after walking around for a short time, the platform material will pucker and rise beneath the toe, allowing the toe to bend and completely negating the straightening effect. I cut a piece of semi-soft plastic from the side of a 64 oz bottle of drinking water -- not the crystal clear bottle but the more flexible translucent type -- and, using the toe straightener as a template, cut it to match the platform of the toe straightener. Then, using the plastic as a template, I cut a piece of self-adhesive moleskin to match and applied it to the plastic. Finally, using a box cutter (or any razor cutter or Exacto knife) I cut a small rectangle angle out of the moleskin/plastic platform just large enough for the toe loop to fit through. Now, placing the platform I made between the foot and the toe straightener, and pulling the loop through the rectangular hole, I have the perfectly functional toe straightener. Pedifix is a good company; let's hope they discover this defect and start producing these with a stiffer platform, "ready to use"

Very good product for hammer toe
I have ordered 3 of these. My hammer toe was beginning to develop after a foot surgery for a bunion. Wearing this product stretches out the toe, and greatly reduces/eliminates the pain from walking. I also believe it has slowed the development of my hammer toe, although I will still likely need surgery in the future. They do wear out after a while, and when new can cause the circulation in your toe to be cut off, particularly when you are not walking. To avoid having to take off my shoe and sock at work, I use it in the evenings, and my toe is sufficiently stretched for the following day at work. If you have a hammer toe then try this product, for the price it is worth a shot. I cannot speak to how effective it would be for someone who has an extremely bad hammertoe that is fully developed, but for my mild to moderate one it has made it possible to walk without pain. When combined with the affordable price there is no question that the product should receive 5 stars based on my experience.

It works, I guess...
I developed hammer toe in the toe next to my big toe. It now rubs on the inside tops of all my shoes and boots. I needed to find some way to try to get it down. So I tried an Oval-8 first. That definitely forces the toe back straight, but it can get pretty painful, so I tried PediFix. It isn't as "right now" a fix at an Oval-8 because it's soft, but it does pull the toe back down to where it should be. One warning, if you have a hammer toe, as I have, after a while any of these devices with make your toe feel like it's on fire. I can get about 2 hours max and the pain becomes so distracting that I just can't take it any longer. I believe with regular wear I might be able to straighten that toe out, or at least keep it from getting worse, but I'm no expert, so I might just be going through this pain for nothing. This device is so inexpensive that I say you have very little to lose by trying it as I have. I can say that after you wear it for an hour or so and take it off, the toe IS more straight and it feels as if a constant pressure has been relieved (not just the pressure of the PediFix, but the pressure of the shortening tendons that are causing the curling up of the toe in the first place). I'm going to stick with it daily, as best I can, for a month or so and I'll update this review with the results (around July 2013 if I remember).

Quality is tops
The quality seems very good. Will come back in a month to share how good it really is.
