Helped my son to stay within the lines.

Language arts teacher here - when my grandson's teacher had this item on her list, I knew immediately that I needed to find Mead brand. There are cheaper primary journals available, but they usually do not wear well like the Mead ones do. The covers, the binding and the page quality varies by manufacturer-all journals are not the same. In the Mead ones if a student erases, the paper is not likely to get a hole in it or rip. Most of the time in the Mead ones, an erasure will lift all of the pencil lead and allow the student to write over the space. The binding quality is important because it holds the journal together; the Mead bindings are strong.

My 8 year old son was having trouble writing within the lines of regular paper. The coloured and dotted lines of these primary books are fantastic for him. I gave him one book for his German dictation work and one for his History work. He was thrilled to receive these as a special gift. His writing has improved dramatically using the guidelines provided in the book and likes to draw pictures about his work in the top half. I will be looking to purchase this product with a full page of lines in the future (instead of half lines and half empty - for drawing). I would highly recommend these books to anyone who needs help with their writing.
