Dont even try polish stamping without the konad stamper!
Out of everything you need to become a great nailart specialist, or "stamper" this is the one thing there is NO Substitute for! While you can use different stamping plates or do it free hand, use different brands of nail polish, or use a business or playing card as the scraper the one thing you NEED to become a great nail stamper and can't do without is the stamping tool. And you can't do any better than the konad brand and I wouldn't even try. Whether it is one or two sided the konad stamper is the one item you can't do without. Some people who are a little timid think it might be easier if they start out by using one of the new sliding "stamping" machines they have come out with. I was one of them. But it actually seemed to make it more complicated and harder to stamp. The best thing is to jump in with "both hands"and start out by using the stamper. You actually have more control over where you put the stamp. On the other hand the scraper really isn't as necessary or that great. You can use a business card or a playing card and it will scrape off the excess polish just as well or (for me) better than the scraper that comes with this. You need something hard and stiff...um ...preferably not metal. Although metal scrapers work great they also will scratch the stamping plates. The more they get scratched the less of a clean stamping design you get and eventually it will ruin them. The plastic one that comes with this works but it has there are little ridges and corners etc that collect the polish and even after scraping it, it's still doesn't come clean. A lot of people I know like to use plain paper towel to clean off the plates. So I think you'll find something that you will prefer over another. No matter what you decide to do remember that this is like everything you try to do in life...It takes time and practice to get good at it. Get your kids or grandkids involved, telling them you want to do their nails. They aren't as picky about something being perfectly even or straight as we are when we get a little older. Don't give up, be patient with yourself and most of all have fun. That's the reason for doing this isn't it?BUT TAKE THE WORD OF AN ADDICTED STAMPER....DONT DO IT WITHOUT YOUR KONAD STAMPER!!! That's the one tool you need to guard with your life because without the stamper you just can't stamp. Period.

Easy to use. Super cute and fun!
I bought this stamper and some plates a few months ago to play with. I had one when I was a teenager and it was my favorite thing but back then it was clunky and huge! This one is so nice it is small and works great. I just messed around a little the other night and put random ones on each nails. It was really easy to do. I did find that some polishes did not work so well. Pure Ice seemed to worked really well. Solid white. No glitter. I did use an overlay for emphasis after the stamp but some of it got smudged. Note to self.. use Seche Vite https://smile.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Clear-Crystal-Misc/dp/B00770JW9Q/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=seche+vite&qid=1583533634&sr=8-1 after the stamp application color to save it!I discovered that using the blue film from the plates works great at removing the polish from the stamper once it is dry. I attached some photos of the blue film I am talking about. Save that film when you take it off your plates!! Any tape would probably work but you already have that blue film and it is a little sticky so why not use it!

Konad, where have you been all my life?
I just got my Konad stamper, and I can't believe I've gone this long without it. Being impatient and a "learn by doing" type, although I did watch a YouTube video while I was waiting for this to arrive, I tore it open and got right to stamping. Even with no practice and cheap polish, my nails look amazing and professionally done.I'm not sure what another reviewer meant about "filing" your stamper before you use it; I didn't do anything to prep the stamper or scraper except for taking them out of the package, and they worked just fine. I used a gold chrome from Wet n' Wild as my base color, and a black polish from Color Cosmetic that I picked up super cheap - six polishes for $5. That combo worked great; the Color Cosmetic black goes on opaque and is super for stamping (the WnW gold chrome is a little too faint as a stamping color but great as a base). The stamper cleaned up beautifully. The scraper was a little harder to clean up and still has some staining on the plastic handle, but I'm probably going to try using an old gift card instead, as the metal blade put some very light scratches on my stamping plate. This stamper is a must for anyone who's addicted to doing their nails. Shipping was very fast and even though the stamper comes in protective plastic, the seller also put it in a nice thick padded envelope, so it arrived in perfect condition.

Fun but doesn't always work
I absolutely love the Konad stamper...when it is working correctly. I agree with the others who said to be sure to view the youtube tutorial. I too jumped in feet first without watching the video and wasted hours! Be sure to file your stamper and also rubbing the rubber end between your hands and warming it up helps as well. Still, there are times when the stamper just won't pick up the design, no matter what tricks I use. It gets frustrating to be half done my nails and then have it quit working. Be sure to use the Konad nail polish as well. I have not found any other brand that works with the stamper. The scraper is essentially useless as it gets gunked up quickly and is hard to clean. However, an old credit card or the like works very well (better even!)all in all, it's a fun tool and if it always worked well, I'd give it a five star rating. It was worth the purchase price and even with the frustrations, I still do enjoy using it!
