42119 Headlight Adjusting Screw

95 Chevy C3500 Cheyenne. After reading other reviews, I was nervous, but ordered anyway. They installed fine for me. The way I installed them, they plastic clips just kinda “rest” in the slot. The headlight bezel is sprung on the bottom, so once you slide the screw into the bezel, the plastic part is held in place by the pull of the spring tension. I dunno if the negative review ppl that had trouble tried to “snap it” in, but it worked fine for me, just using the tension of the spring against the bezel. I recommend, and will buy again if needed.

Either I've got the strongest headlight adjustment springs or these are junk. Didn't even last a day. Adjuster is already stripped and my headlights are pointing towards the ground. The original ones lasted from 1995. Nothing is made as good as they used to be.

Needed for my Chevy Truck to Adjust the headlights. Fit like factory and worked great. Would replace all of mine if they needed it. No more brittle rusted adjusters.

Dorman Help! 42119 Head Lamp Chevy Im restoring an older truck, and my light adjusters time had come. There was no adjustment as the metal screws had corroded badly. For an older vehicle, you can no longer get parts, the dealers only stock from 1999 and up. My availability has long past. I found these light adjusters and felt they should do the job. I started installing by adjusting to the old adjusters measurement, then popped them in. Thats the good. Heres the bad... Either the replacement panel was cut with the improper sized adjuster hole or the new adjuster mount is not working. I think it is both, the adjuster popped out of the panel with a mere touch. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM is where the little tabs are supposed to press out after being pushed into the hole. NORMALLY, the tabs push out and hold against the metal panel, holding in place. FIRST, the plastic mix may not be correct. I tried to bend out a tab and it immediately broke off. SECOND, THESE tabs didn't flex out, at least not properly. I am giving them a break as I have a after market panel (foreign made quality) and the holes may not be cut to the correct size making the adjusters pop out, but, alas, there is a fix. THE FIX is to cut some of that spongy packing that items are shipped in, slight larger than the space under those taps on the new adjuster. put one on each side, under each adjuster. you want this packing material to push the tab out and secure the adjuster in the hole on the panel. You will know you got it when you press the adjuster through the panel hole and you hear that "SNAP" as the tabs snap over the edge of the panel. Guys, it is getting more difficult to give reviews with glowing naratives because the items are not the quality that we deserve for our money. In this case, this may be the only source we have anymore for this type of component for the lights of an older vehicle. With this said... I will Recommend them as they will adjust the lights BUT YOU MUST add the modification for it to secure into the panel. I do not know the seller nor did I get any merch or money for my random review. 240303 0902
