A delicious sequel
I checked this book out from the library and there were so many recipes I wanted to try that I ended up buying a copy. I also own their first cookbook. I've already made the jam muffins which are out of this world yummy! They are basically the muffin equivalent to a jelly doughnut. I've also made the salted caramel popcorn, the raspberry corn muffins and the sweet potato and lemon bread. All incredibly delicious. My only caveat is that the muffins make way more than the recipe says if you use a standard muffin pan. I got 18 of the jam muffins and two dozen of the raspberry corn muffins, when the recipe was only supposed to make a dozen. I freeze the extras but if you've got a small family, you might want to cut the recipes in half. This book has a few more savory recipes that the first one and a few cute craft ideas but it's a very similar book. If you liked the first Back in the Day book you will enjoy this one too.

LOVELY BOOK!
Since I love to bake and was looking for some new recipes, I discovered this book and purchased immediately. Based on the positive reviews, I was pretty sure I would not be disappointed. Let me say the reviews were correct. Not only does this book encompass great recipes, but it includes wonderful tips and beautifully illustrated photographs. It is pretty obvious this book was made with love, and I intend to get their other book which is devoted to just sweet baking. The only complaint I had is that the first book arrived damaged and warped, and I went through quite an ordeal to rectify the matter.

Holy Yum! It's love!
If you're anything like me and just love good and classic desserts (nothing that calls for crazy ingredients or obscure kitchen tools!) then this is your dessert book! Most of their recipes are classics with a few modern updates, but they still taste like the perfect comfort food they are! Not over complicated! My favorites in this book are their biscuits (they taste like a better version of Popeyes... Yummmm) and their pies!Unlike their first cookbook this one has more of a balance of savory, breads, and sweets. I love them both, so if you love one get the other! Happy baking!

Love this cook book.
I started following this bakery when I saw the first cookbook on a cooking show. I really love the recipes and they are easy to follow. Some of the spices are not the typical ones you have at home but are easy to find. A good recipe books for something new.

FABULOUS!
I am loving The Back in the Day bakery cookbooks! I have both of them. Like the first this one has amazing recipes and great photography to accompany them. I have already made their biscuits recipe twice, they have such great flavor. I love that the recipes are easy to follow, and aren't extremely elaborate. Most of the ingredients are probably in your pantry, so no hunting for hard to find "vanilla from the outskirts of the river, on top of the mountain of Narnia". The recipes are great for new cooks and experienced cooks alike. I truly cannot rave enough about this cookbook, such a gem in my cookbook collection! I truly hope they make another!!

Excellent! Bake In The Day Cheryl & Griff Are Going To Retire!
This is an excellent book! It's our favorite bakery in Savannah, Ga. I'm sorry to say they have put their building up for sale and will soon be moving on the greener pastures. It's very bittersweet. I saw them on the Today Show 20 years ago and made the decision that I finally had to visit Savannah. Fast forward we loved Savannah so much we live there now! Thank you Cheryl and Griff!! Happy Trails!

The Best Darn Chocolate Cake You'll Ever Taste!
The Chocolate Cream Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache is simply the BEST!My 9 year old daughter baked me this cake for my birthday.(I am a terrible baker and was terrified to use a double boiler:-)This is the best cake I have ever tasted! Everyone at my party was blown away( all adults)! The only thing my daughter changed wasthe Whipped butter cream frosting which we though was kinda gross. It must be a Southern thing? She exchanged it for the AllAmerican Butter cream frosting pg.186, and just cut it in half. Make sure you read Cheryl's tips on whipping butter and not over whipping the batter once the flour is add! It really made a wonderful birthday. Good luck! her other book is great too!
