Best ice packs for pain , flexible and really cold, they work great and last a really long time

Excellent ice packs — they stay cold for a long time, remain flexible, and conform nicely to the area being iced without losing their shape. After knee surgery, I tried several types, and these have been the most effective and comfortable by far. Highly recommended for any kind of injury or soreness.

I broke my kneecap and had to have surgery, so have spent the last 4 months icing my leg every day in order to get the swelling down. At first I didn't have an ice pack so was just using ice cubes in a bag but this wasn't working too well. I ordered this pack and it is perfect. The size is great, it's wraps around my knee to cover the sides as well as the actual kneecap. It doesn't take long to freeze - after a couple of hours the gel is definitely cold enough to ice well. I do notice that sometimes the pack is a bit solid when left in the freezer for a longer period of time, but if you leave it out for a couple of minutes it softens but does not warm up. Alternatively, you can just mould it around your body part - even when solid, it is still possible to bend it around a knee or wherever else you may need it. I read that some people had trouble with it being too warm after a few minutes of using it, but I have never had this problem. I tend to ice my knee for 20 minutes at a time, and it is just as cold at the end as it was at the start. It also does not take long at all to re-freeze for a second use. This item is perfect for what it is designed for

I have an L5-S1 injury and slipped disc. This is especially painful at times. I purchased several of these from my physicians office back a couple years ago, and used them so much that we had to keep all of them in the freezer as soon as I was done with one because the pack was my only source of relief. About a year or so ago I noticed that the ones from the physicians office were turning into a jelly type substance, and slowly I started throwing them away. I called my physician and they wanted to charge me an insane amount for just 1, so off to Amazon I came to find one. The one that I purchased was not only bigger, but it's cheaper. I ordered them and have been extremely happy with my purchase. They are much bigger than my original ones, and for relief for that part of the body, it does need to be an adequate size. I didn't realize what I was missing out on! They also seem to be better quality, as they haven't started to turn into that weird jelly consistency. They mold very nicely to whatever part of your body you put them on. I have used them on my foot, back and head. I will be purchasing more.

I recently bought two sizes of these packs because my doctor recommended using them while I'm under treatment for bad discs. I especially love these because they are flexible even while frozen. Amazing. That means that you can conform the pack to any location of body part. And they stay cold for a long time. I haven't used them as a hot pack yet, but nice to know you can stick them in the microwave and use them that way if necessary. There was only one problem I experienced with these. I bought sizes larger than the one provided by my doctor, I should have been more careful when ordering! If I had something to put them in that would help them keep their shape while in use, there wouldn't be a problem. I'm currently looking for a zipper bag about the same size that would suit this need. If you wrap it in a towel, etc., eventually the inside gel tends to move to the bottom of the pack, instead of remaining diffused throughout the entire pack. If you wanted to use it on a shoulder, for example, eventually the gel would move to both ends of the pack and the portion covering the top of the shoulder would not have any cooling gel in it. So you'd have to get creative, depending on your use/need. Still, a great pack! I'm happy I have these and hope they last a long time.

I needed a new gel pack and gave these a try. They are actually a bit bigger than the one I'm replacing. So far no leaks or issues. I have only tried them using cold, not sure about heating them. The gel is a bit thinner and the pack is less full than my current pack so the gel tends to flow away from high points. Out of the freezer initially the gel is pretty stiff but does loosen up. Keeps the cold reasonably long. They work good for me.

I have several of these ice packs and I use them on a daily basis, numerous times. I keep mine in a chest freezer and they can tend to get solid frozen, but I like that because they stay cold for a very long time, like 30 minutes. After they thaw a bit from my body heat, they become flexible so I can wrap them in a bandana and tie them around my head and neck. Otherwise, I just leave them flat to cover my upper or lower back, hips and abdomen. Very effective for calming migraine head/abdominal pain & nerve pain in my spine or wherever else I'm having nerve pain/aches and soreness. These are so useful and effective. Can't beat the price, either!

Great size for wrapping around knees. Stays cold for a long time.
