OtterBox Defender Series Case for Google Pixel 2 XL (ONLY) - Black

I had this same case series for my Pixel XL, and it protected my phone well. Love this one even better than the one for the Pixel XL. This one, for the Pixel 2XL, first I love the color options, the deep purple with pink accent is perfect for me. Secondly, there have been a couple of improvements. It fits into the holster better, and you can tell it is securely in because it makes a loud snap sound as it clicks in. Another improvement is that the phone fits in upside down, ie, top pointed down. When you remove it from the holster, it is already in position. The older model, I had to flip the phone end to end as I brought it up to my face. I just upgraded from the Pixel XL to the Pixel 2XL and just got the case, 2 weeks ago. I like it so much, I ordered a second one as a backup. My case for my Pixel XL, I caught the holster clip on a camp chair as I sat down, and broke it, so I had to order a second one to get another clip holster. The case itself was fine and never had to be replaced. So I have a backup for this one already . . .

I am currently on my fourth defender case mostly due to the belt clip breaking in 2 years. While they are very bulky they do a good job protecting the phone. I would rather replace a $25-70 dollar case (otterbox will replace under warranty if they still have that model for shipping cost) vs having to have a $1000 phone repaired or replaced even with extended warranty and accident protection it would be $100-150 to get repaired. I do wish they would come out with one that was water proof and had a screen cover like they have for some other model phone.

Not sure when they started making the OtterBox defender without the built in screen protector but that's crap! That's the most important feature of this case and this does not have it...meaning they're falsly advertising the product. That information needs to be in the headline!

I read review that say this is too small. I had no issue with it fitting my Pixel 2XL. I also saw where people were saying it broke their screen protector. I also have a glass screen protector and it's doing fine. A little difficult to get on, but that's because it needs to stretch over for best protection. I was unhappy with the phone itself, which is extremely delicate and overrated, but the case has at leastade it so Im not breaking this thing any further.

Excellent at the beginning, but phone shifted internal to the case and made button operation problematic, simplest solution was to push on back of case for slight repositioning. Through normal use the outer rubber components have broken down, resulting in the eyes becoming damaged, specifically around the power/wake button. Additionally, the soft rubber seal around the charge port fell out, resulting in a still protected, but specifically vulnerable phone. A quality product, but only for so long.

Hubby isn't gentle. Kept his phone safe for 2 years! The only negative I can say is that the outter rubbery layer stretches and sags over time.

While it was cheaper than normal Otter box brand, did not last. Broke after only a few months of use. I'm in education, so my phone doesn't really get "abused." I was very disappointed in this product. Was too late for return when it broke.

I don't use the holster portion as much as I find it difficult to remove the phone at times. The main case stays on full time otherwise.

Not everyone's issue. I like small purses and it is a bit too thick for it.. I think this product is more for men who want to hang it off of their pant waist. It would be great for that
