Q: What is the size of the balls? 3 mm, 5 mm?? Length of sticks?

The comment that the steel balls are 7mm is wrong. While I don't have a way to measure them accurately they are around 12mm. I believe the part about the sticks being 25mm is correct but again I didn't measure. 2 balls together are just a little bit shorter than a stick.

Yes. There are small magnets within each end of each small rod that will stick to each other or to the small magnet balls.
