Backpacker's Pantry Mocha Mousse Pie, Two Serving Pouch, (Packaging May Vary)​

It' s not like from the corner bakery and it's kind of terrible from a nutrional standpoint but if you make a pouch of this after a day of hiking with the kids, whatever complaining was coming from their direction will cease immeadiately. Tastes good enough that my wife and I had to invoke the parent tax on dessert. And if you're buying this as an emergency food, I'm still going to encourage buying it as an emotional comfort. It's quite the morale booster and when the annual supply purge comes around where you have to eat the stuff that's getting a little older than you're comfortable with, this isn't going to be one of the items you eat begrudgingly.

A messy concoction of Chocolate pudding flavored with coffee. The dessert is simple to prepare. Rather than use two forks, I usually whittle a forked stick to use as a whisk/stirrer so I have less dishes to wash. The dessert can be made with cold water, but as another reviewer put it, the consistency is much better when you use hot water. However, I don't like the taste with hot water as much, so I generally re-seal the bag and let it cool for a bit.I would recommend this to a friend craving variety and convenience, but there are tastier desserts out there.

The mocha mousse pie tasted pretty good with a definite taste of coffee and chocolate. The consistency was more pudding like but that's to be expected with a product such as this. I'm giving it three stars for the taste but I was appalled at the amount of sugar per serving. The package contains two servings and each serving has 30 grams of sugar !!! That just seems a little excessive in the sugar department for me. See attached picture of the nutrition facts.

Picked this up for a recent trip as an add-on item. The price was right, so I figured why not.I followed the directions and made this after a dehydrated meal. I don't get the bad reviews. It's pudding in a bag. It's not going to be gormet. It's soooo simple. Add water, mix, then you add the crumbs. You make it all in the pouch and it tastes amazing. No fuss, no clean up. Do yourself a favor and pick this up.

This is delicious! I recommend opening up the pouch as much as possible as the power gets stuck in the bottom creases of the pouch. I packed a small whisk but I think a fork would have done just as well. I mixed it with cold water and had no problem with it thickening up. We were camped at just around 4000 ft in elevation.

When you are out hiking or camping you will devour it on the trail or when expending mass quantities of calories. Espeically good when you are hot, sweating, tired and hungry - this is perfect - but at home way too sweet. Never eat this at home because it blow your diet and your taste buds!

I honestly wasn't expecting much from a dehydrated mousse pie. Wow was I wrong. If you enjoy desserts this product is a perfect ending to any camp meal. If I were to give any real criticism of the product it would be to add more graham cracker crumble to the packet. That being said I still give the product 5 stars.

This dessert was ok. It thickened up nicely and had a good mocha flavor. Rating this 4 stars because the dessert was just ok and not absolutely fabulous.
