Had potential, yet its flaws overwhelm what could have been an enjoyable novel
Jade’s friend is sick, and she desperately needs the medicine that town has. Only women on Earth are now rare, and its extremely dangerous to enter a town filled with so many males. Yet she has no choice. She just has to make sure no one discovers that she’s a woman. After illness kills most of the species, Vukaror is desperate to find a species that’s compatible to mate with. After stumbling upon a transmission that Earth released many years prior floating in space, he sets course. He didn’t expect when he landed that he would walk into a “group mating ritual” where the women seems unwilling. He knows with one look that she’s meant for him, and him alone.TONE OF THE BOOKBeast goes for a definitely light hearted approach. It’s hard to take the novel seriously with its wild plot, unrealistic character behaviours and crazy banter.SENSITIVE TOPICSBeast is a novel clearly aimed at mature readers. There are numerous sexual scenes dominating the novel more than the actual story plot. Most of the sex scenes have a focus on BDSM, such as spanking and being tied up.SERIES SYNOPSISBeast is the first instalment of the Warriors of Kaizon Series. There are currently 6 novels in the series. Its 135 pages long, making it 1/3 the length of a standard romance novel (at approximately 300 pages). It’s a very fast read that you can knock out in only a couple hours, and sadly because of its length it lacks a lot of depth that many novels possess. Each novel in the series focuses on a different couple. It ends with a happily ever after, with the world plot line continuing between novels.REVIEW“They were built by the government, right in the aftermath of the Mistake, to keep the population under control. They were supposedly all destroyed when they started to malfunction, but… I guess not.”The action scenes are completely ruined when the characters literally stop to have conversations constantly, usually as a means to explain the world-building. For example, Luna Hunter introduces “Hunter-Killers” which are battle bots. The females in the room decide to explain to each other (and the reader) what they are rather than seek a way to hide. They are literally being chased by robots that are shooting at them and have buzz-saws on their arms!“That’s right. I bet you’ve never had to deal with a Kaizon before.”“That’s new,” Livingston says, “but still no match for my battle bots!”Character behaviour all up is rather unbelievable all-round. For example, when the villain sees an alien for the first time, there is no shock or hesitation. The heroine consistently runs headlong into danger, and often undertakes stupid actions for the sake of just doing them (such as exposing her hiding location to pickpocket a passing guard just because). His eyebrows furrow. “You dare to challenge me?”“I don’t just dare you, I double-dare you.”“What?!” he growls. The banter is… interesting. Luna Hunter has clearly gone for what she hopes to be a perky and fun novel, however I often found myself disliking the conversations between the characters. Even when being forced into uncomfortable situations the characters regularly would talk in what felt like almost childish banter. The world building has some major flaws. Whilst Luna Hunter has clearly tried to introduce some interesting concepts, it just bounces all over the place. Luna Hunter regularly tries to impress that humanity has lost its world-knowledge and almost fallen back into the Middle Ages, but that’s acceptable as they’ve been living alone in the wilds all their lives. The heroine has no idea what a battery is, so far as to even mispronounce the term, and yet is completely comfortable interacting with robots and helicopters without batting her eyelids.FINAL WORDSadly Beast just doesn’t impress me. It had such potential with world building, yet its flaws overwhelm what could have been an enjoyable novel. If you’re looking for a light-hearted, over-the-top romance novel that doesn’t take itself seriously at all then this one is definitely worth checking out though. It didn’t work for me because I prefer my novels a bit more grounded.RECOMMENDED BOOKS AND AUTHORSIf you like very much alpha characters, then consider reading Milana Jacks. Her most famous series is Beast Mates, starting with Blind Beast Mate. Its a dystopian paranormal romance with alien werewolf-like creatures called the Beasts who have settled on Earth. The aliens have an agreement with humans living in the Communities called the Pairing Program, allowing them to buy women to be their mates.Calista Skyes’ has several action scenes in her Caveman Alien series, the first book being Caveman Alien’s Ransom. As the title suggests, this series is a more classic fantasy sword-fighting barbarian style.

Entertaining
This book was a little rushed in places. I still enjoyed it and the premise behind it. So the people of Earth combat manage to cause themselves a mass destruction and instead of respecting those who survive the males have reverted to their base nature and great the woman that are left as cattle. Serves them right that an Alien species decided to wipe them out and steal the women. It seems rather short sighted to not encourage families to grow and repopulate but that would make to much sense and people in power can't always be trusted to do what is in the best interest of everyone. Voka's hot headed brother seems to not be much better than the remaining human males. It will be fun to see him taken to task by a human woman. DanaLynn

Interesting details but average story line
It was a good read for fans of alien romance. The plot was just meh but romance is not always about a steller plot. Steam was about 80% from unconscious drooling. Love scenes were repetitive performances between spank and no spanking sex. It could have use variety it positions and technique, but suspect writers sexual knowledge is vanilla with just one color sprinkles. Nothing wrong with that. Vanilla is a classic and my fav for a reason and way better than books that rewrite porn scenes. Making the book's just unrealistic. There were moments the MC felt consistent because she suffered from huge low self esteeme issue while she was also cocky, however people can really be that way and to have her all mopy or all cocky is just one dimentional. Do, I have to credit that I liked the deeper look at the character. Also, felt there were moments of behaviors done to her that were very much sexual assualt but the book played them out more casual. Part of that, I am sure was to keep from going to dark, but I also have to say that logically in a community were women become sex commodities sexual assault would be viewed as normal behavior since it in an environment that is defined by male sexual demand rather than mutual agreement. So, that felt on point to the story setting in the end.It could gave used a more complex rescue scene. That was a bit disappointing since it was super short, straight forward, and perfect senario. People like a little grit and struggle in the end game, but that was lacking.

Sooo good
This book was sooo good & well written. I love the alien vibe with human females. There was very little angst, lots of steamy scenes, love, adventure & of course HEA. Moving on to book 2, this series is so far a definite must read as long as you like impossibly tall, muscled strong sexy alien males that will do anything for their mates.

Better than I was expecting
I wish it had been a bit longer, fleshed out more, let then characters develop, grow and their love deepend more than sex & an upcoming baby - but overall found this to be pleasantly satisfying. It's a good start to a series. Hopefully future installments will add some depth.

Steamy
Wow. What a steamy, violent read. Interesting characters and an interesting plot. The alien King sure did do what he set out to dim even if he stranded himself achieving his goal. And The human female was wild and reckless but did humanity proud in her quest to find meds for her friend. I’m more interested in the rest of the brothers and what havoc they will unleash on the Earth.

One long sexfest and a hohem plot
This story had some potential but it disappointed greatly. The plot could have been expanded on but ended up very superficial. Even the relationship between the main characters wasn’t very deeply explored. It was shallow and focused too much on the constant sex described in rather crude terms. I’ve read the Galactic mates series and had I realised it was by the same author, I wouldn’t have bothered with this book. Those books were also rather shallow and sex based.

barb
I enjoyed this book, but it wasnt long enough, the author could of written alot more chapters, basically its the same same plot, (1)hot alien with a(2) hot body, (3)HUGE penis, and a (1)human female ,(2)beautiful, with curves, (3)tough but in a hostile environment,But its a good story, said aliens planet is dieing, his planets females are infertile, risks all to journey to earth, rescues the human female, they have heaps of sex, all the time, human males are the bad guys, having turned into a race of rapists, which dont reconise females as people, just cattle, Hopefuly the next books have more chapters.

Beast mode..🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is the first book from Juno Hunter and it was a good read. With hot Alien Warrior and a Rebel human female who’s on the run what possibly can happen ... in a future earth where females are rare and are a commodity this made for an interesting read...
