Newton and Me (Arbordale Collection)

This is a great book for young children to be introduced to Sir Isaac Newton's first and second laws of gravity. I would recommend this book to teachers or parents of young children because it offers a great doorway for kids to explore the concepts of push and pull on objects kids would be familiar with. I also like the simplicity of the book for younger children, as well as the supplemental materials at the end of the book. The supplemental material offers three pages of questions and more information on the topic of force and motion, as well as a page on Sir Isaac Newton and a simplified definition of his first two laws. Young children will be drawn to explore the concepts discussed in this book and will get them thinking about Newton's Laws of Motion. Overall, I would recommend this book and may even add it to my classroom library if I am a teacher in Kindergarten through 3rd-grade.

This story is so adorable! It tells of a dog named Newton who teaches his owner about some of the laws of physics. Well written and fun!

I used this to teach force and motion with my students. Difficult concepts were made easy with the explanations in this story. Super cute.

Sent this to my niece who has been super into science. My sister says it is adorable and she has read it many times already.

As a pre-service intern I am being challenged to find fun ways to teach children conceptually rather than from a textbook. Newton and Me is perfect for introducing young children to the concepts of forces and motion. The situations are something they can relate to in their own lives and something that you can act out in the classroom or at home to physically show how the different forces change the motion of the objects. I love this book and I would recommend it to anyone interested in education, either for their own children or for in the classroom.

I would recommend this book for children that are in between ages 5-2. This is a great book for children that are barely learning about motion. It has many real life examples that children are able to understand because they see that it's object they have at home that they can themselves try to test it out. It showed how objects need to be pushed or thrown for it to show motion. It's a book about a young boy testing out ways objects are being moved by motion and how some objects need to be pushed harder than others for it to move faster.

It’s a great story, teaches tons of information without being to tedious or long. Love how the back gives you definitions and a matching activity.

This is a wonderful book for exploring forces - ages 6-9 years. I haven’t found a better book yet!

Great book with more info and a wee quiz at the end I loved it til my 15 month old got hold of it and ripped it apart might buy it again
