Cloverleaf Blanket Answer 500g Blanketweed Treatment

I had tried barley straw and liquid barley extract, which did seem to improve our blanketweed problem somewhat, but I was still pulling quite a bit out. Dumped some of this stuff in the pond a couple of times and within a few weeks, the sheets of slime were gone! A few days after the first treatment, there was a bunch of black stuff at the bottom of the pond, remnants of the blanketweed that was killed off. After a while, since the product is keeping the blanketweed from forming, there's no black stuff either. Very happy with this product.

This works really well! I used this as my usual pond treatment was not available, and I'm glad I did. Really easy to use, and although it makes the water look "milky" for a little while (which it says it will do), after a couple of days algae was dead and the water was crystal clear. The dead algae was easy to remove, and it has had a much longer impact than the previously used treatment, even with all the hot weather we have unusually had! I have now bought this a couple of times and will not be returning to the original pond treatment.

I assume the product is ok but it was an incredible challenge to actually open the jar and then after a lot of prodding there was no scoop inside to measure out the quantity required. I am currently waiting for a scoop!

Works very well in a small pond. But since using we have now gone native and use natural ways to clean the pond water.

Very impressed with this product. Was having a major problem with blanket weed. Put the required dose in which turned the pond milky white. Slowly cleared over the following four or five days and now the pond has never looked clearer with absolutely no trace of the blanket weed. A little tip. Remove any remaining weed after treatment as it can turn to mush potentially clogging the pond filter.

After years of battling with blanketweed I finally decided to give this a go. And I'm so glad I did! I used as per the instructions, was a little worried about harming my plants and fish but had to do something... within a few days the blanket weed was completely gone! Cleared up with some sludge remover and the pond was back it's former glory. No harm to any fish or plants at all. Great value for money, this tub will hopefully last a while! Water clarity was incredible and the effect lasted all summer. Well worth the money.

The bar is set low but this is the best product by far that I have found for treating blanket weed. It turns the water milky then the weed goes white and turns to slush. If your pond is heavily infested you may need two or even three doses to kill every thing off. I'm not totally convinced that it has no impact on plants as my water lilly leaves went bronze colour and began to die off after application.
