I am very surprised when I received this tutu dress that it is so sturdily made. It has a wide elastic band sewed tightly in. There is a mini-length lining under the tutu so it's discreet but functional. It does have a lot of layers and they are stiff tutu materials, so the skirt after fluffing up is BIG and pretty. The length is perfect for wearing on its own - on my 5-yr-old daughter who is 47+ inches tall the tutu reaches right about her knee and the lining part is mid-thigh. It's just a little too snugged for her 49lb body and she does not have a wide waist. If you have a skinny 6-7 year old it may work. I don't think it will fit a 10 for sure, unless it's worn for a recital or something quick. I can imagine my 5 year old will be uncomfortable after an hour in this skirt.

0ne 6 yr old granddaughter's Christmas gifts. She loved it. She wears a size 6X and it was perfect. It will work for her for at least another year. She wears it over plain dresses because she says: "it makes any dress a party dress."

We used this for a school 2-22-22 celebration. It fit perfectly and was lined which is much better for comfort. I loved the length as well. It was not so short!

this tutu skirt is very well made, true to size and of great quality. I took 1 star off because the belt is not attached and it would be better if it was sewn to the skirt itself, but overall great purchase!
