Ignition Coil Module Assembly for 4.3, 5.0, 5.7 MECRUISER 392-863704T 8M0054588, VOLVO PENTA 3861985 3862167 3883158

I bought this coil for Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI just to replace my aging coil. It worked for about 2 hours of run time on the engine. We got stranded and had to call Towboat US. I replaced my old coil and engine works fine. Stick with OEM parts. This part was complete junk. Do Not waste your time and money on this

The coil works just great, I took a wave over the transom and the engine got soaked and blew out the coil. Volvo Penta wanted over two hundred dollars for the coil. With a simple adjustment to where the coil mounts to the engine this eighty dollar coil works great. I now carry keep a spare coil on the boat, just in case, I never want to get stuck and have Sea Tow pull me in again.

This coil does not work on Mercruiser 5.0 mpi. I installaed it on mine and it would run but causes an alarm to go off two beeps per minute. Installed Mercruiser OEM coil and alarm went away. Sad part is I'm not the only one that this has happened to so I'm sure they are aware of the problem but keep selling them to people.

Put this on a marine Volvo Penta 5.7 “vortex”engine. Worked for about 10hrs of normal operation, then died. The price point is nice compared to the OEM $700 coil but it should have lasted longer than that.

The unit worked when installed and briefly tested. The first outing on the water had a check engine buzzer warning.I installed the original coil and the warning went away. The fault code was 43 on the scanner. Mercruiser 555 ECM.Bottom line it worked, but buy the OEM. This did not work.

This coil cost me a whole season of fishing plus 5 thousand dollars in every other part the boat yard & Volvo Penta rep changed on my boat !!!! Do not buy it

Returned, does not work with 5.0 mpi. Your engine will run however the module cause an audible alarm on your system. Bought the mercruiser one and alarm stopped.
