Portland Oblong Violin Case 4/4 Size Navy Blue

I am a restorer of antique violins and have been through dozens of different cases for my instruments and for students and I can tell you this is a very nice, well-made case for the money. Shipped in a sturdy box and wrapped well, nothing to complain about. Construction seems solid, the zippers are top-notch (A BIG deal!) and the handles is very heavy-duty and comfortable. The inside features nice thick "suspension" pads in the bottom for body protection, good strong Velcro strap to keep your fiddle safe from accidental spills if you fail to close the lid before picking the case up, a humidity meter, two bow holders, a generous shoulder-rest compartment, and lidded accessory compartment and protective blanket. I also like the full music pocket on the lid and end carrying handle and the many exterior bumpers installed at key points to protect the case from abrasion. And, it's very lightweight, yet seems sturdy enough to gig with (of course be careful and not pile heavy stuff on it, since it's a foam case). A big step up from the usual lightweight variety you'll find. Just a good quality case, and you can bet I'll be ordering more of these from time to time. Highly recommended!!

Great case! Bought 1/2 for my daughter's violin and it is pretty close in quality to my full size case which costs almost 4 times more. 1/2 violin fits great, not too snug, not too loose. Both bow holders work fine, no issues. It came with blanket and 2 straps that seem good quality. Bridge fits in bridge compartment perfectly, accessory pocket is good size. Color is dark blue, almost black, which I like better than light blue.Overall very happy with the case. About me: I started playing violin 40 years ago, so seen a few cases before. This one is great, especially for smaller violin sizes (I haven't tried their full size case, it is likely just as good as 1/2 one)Will update this review if any issues develop down the road.

I like Kennedy.s because the shop is excellent in it's craft--they know the subtleties and nuances of violins and string instruments. They do good work, are customer driven, and have quality items in the store. Best of all. they KNOW the string world and seek quality in what they have to offer.

I gave this a 3 star rating because the bow tip bracket is so small/low that my bow does not fit in without damaging it. I do use the Incredibow and have since 2004. Of all the cases I have had for my violin over the 60+ years I have been playing, this is the first one like this. My other case, the bow tip bracket is 3/4 inch high but in this case it is maybe 1/2 inch. I called the company to ask about getting a different bracket set but all of them are the same and they do not have any extras. Had to return it and now looking for a replacement case again for my second violin. The case itself is very nice and lightweight just the issue with the bow tip bracket is not good in my opinion.

My case came in yesterday for the 4/4 violin. It’s better than I thought it would be for the price. It’s well put together and the protection it offers my instrument is exceptional. I’ll definitely buy from this seller in the future.

My daughter loves this violin case. It fits her 1/4 size violin perfectly and it is so light that she can carry this case with her violin so easily to anywhere she goes. The quality is so great for this price as well. Definitely recommend it!
