I fought the socks and the socks won!
I am reviewing in March 2022. I purchased a 6 pack of these socks in 2017 for their warranty and I thought “great I can get new socks every year”. That was not the case due to the truly condemnable level of this sock’s resilience. Once a sick developed a hole, I set it aside for return once I had all socks with a hole or other failure.First of all, I wore these socks almost exclusively and washed between each wear. This was made easy by the comfort of the sock. They didn’t stretch at all over the nearly 200 wears. They also seem to keep a fresher smell than other socks I’ve owned so their may be an antimicrobial quality to them. I never regretted buying and wearing them daily. Awesome socks!Next, I didn’t make it easy on the socks. I run, cycle, do hip hop dance and average about 20,000 steps per day. These soft comfortable socks shouldn’t have stood a chance. However, if these socks were in a fight with me (imagined as a person),they would be Mike Tyson and I (a real person) would be Glass Joe. Awesome socks! As I sit here printing my return label, I have a couple final thoughts. The return process is a breeze but you do need both socks. These socks felt new the whole 5 years even after they developed a small hole. I plan to buy more and gift them to others. I highly recommend these socks for anyone but especially active folks. I had to take away one star as the quality of the sock makes the warranty (reason for which I bought them) almost unusable. Awesome socks!Obviously this is a 5 star product. I don’t trust short generic 5 star reviews on Amazon so I wrote this review in hopes you would read it and choose this product which I have enjoyed so much. Awesome socks.!

My search for the perfect sock is over
My feet sweat very easily and finding a pair of socks that can keep my feet cool and dry is very hard to do it seems. I've tried CoolMax and other "cool" socks but they're usually polyester based which, for me, is worse. Most end up sticking to my feet which gives me a strange "feet claustrophobia" of sorts where I feel I have to get my shoes off no matter where I am or sometimes they'd give me athlete's foot. I know, it's weird. At one point, I had a pair of New Balance socks that had some cushion on the bottom and worked great but of course, they changed the socks and I could never find them again. Those socks sparked the idea that socks could actually change how my shoes fit and how my feet felt at the end of the day, in a good way. After very extensive research I decided to try wool socks which seem the complete opposite of what I needed but what the heck. After looking through brands I decided to go with Darn Tough. Made in the USA, Lifetime Guarantee, multiple styles, and reasonable prices. To say I was eager yet nervous to receive them is an understatement. This was August 2014.Fast forward to the present, I can honestly say I got rid of all my socks and now have at least 7 pairs of these. That's all I need now. And they could easily go two-three days before washing, at least as a desk jockey with occasional intensive labor work. The height of these are a little taller than I thought but perfect. The design on the front of the ankle will be seen in sneakers, right behind the tongue so a good 4-5 inches of the sock is seen. I wear a size 10 shoe so I got the Large. The socks are a little like compression socks at first but once they're on they settle in. I've never had a blister while wearing these and you don't have the stitch clump by your pinky toe like other socks. I was worried about the cushion amount but theses don't make your shoes feel tighter but do give a noticeable improvement to your shoe's insole.I've since got a couple of their crew socks (Gym Sock Solid Crew Light Cushion) for boots which are the same but with taller tops. I accidentally ordered the Micro Crew Ultra-Light Hiking Socks and these I'm not too thrilled about. They remind me of dress socks and give me issues with moisture but I kept them to use as dress socks.Bottom line, these are the best socks I've ever worn. I'd imagine for most people socks are socks unless you're looking for specialized socks to hike or hunt or whatever but if you're like me and have a hard time finding comfortable shoes and socks just for everyday living, then we can relate on the frustration of finding anything and let me tell you these socks have changed everything. You have to be a little more careful with washing but I couldn't be happier. Buy them, you owe it to yourself.

With how happy I've been
While apprehensive at first, it's now Darn Tough for Me!I have owned several pairs of boot and crew length Darn Tough socks for winter wonderland adventures and I've never had a hole or any noticeable wear. With how happy I've been, I decided it was finally time to try Darn Tough for daily use to replace all of my cotton socks. The "Light" series is exactly what I was hoping for. There is still enough cushion to make your feet feel wonderful all day and still lightweight enough that I can wear them to the gym and not get wet feet like I do with cotton socks. In addition to my confidence in the strength and comfort of these socks, I also wanted to give a comprehensive assessment of the smell of these socks. Typically after a day of wearing cotton socks, I'm careful to remove shoes in front of others. I figure I'm a pretty good study on whether or not Darn Tough socks make an improvement in foot causing odor. To give you the full analysis, I wore them every day for a full week (crazy right!?!?). Here are my results:Sunday: End of day it was as if they were still fresh out of the Amazon box.Monday: My wife agreed to give them a sniff after day two. She didn't give the smell a perfect rating, but no disgusting faces, even at close range.Tuesday: Not much has changed, seemingly same condition as Monday night.Wednesday: Had to dress up nicer today for work. Since I don't yet have Darn Tough dress socks (although I will soon!) I was not Darn Tough today...Thursday: By now the socks are I suppose, "seasoned." Still no concerns having stocking feet when we have company over.Friday: Nothing new, still hanging in there.Saturday: A full day of activity but no regrets yet. Probably past the "acceptable" range for most, but smells are only experienced at close range.Sunday: Full test today. Played drumset for several services at church. Lots of kickdrum equals lots of foot sweat. Socks handled it fine and had less sweat than usual. In the afternoon, played ultimate frisbee in a wet snowy field. Socks got soaking wet but still kept me warm. Despite almost all smells being eliminated from the accidental rinse, it seemed appropriate to throw them in the wash. End of study...

Comfortable and good quality
Darn tough makes a good product and this is no exception. I have about a dozen different darn tough socks that I wear. Some thick, some thin, some short, some long. I wear them every day. I've worn them all over the place and on many hikes, ski trips or even just at the office sometimes. They have not let me down. I don't wash them after just one use unless I got into something..they don't stink and usually don't need it.

Comfort
These are fabulous! I walked for miles on vacation and they were warm; the cushion sole made them great since we were on our feet for hours; and they did not fall down; they wash & dry really well! I have bought more for both my husband and I!

Very solid feeling
The socks were very comfy and fit great. I haven't had them for too long so I can't say anything about their durability yet but they feel solid

So far the socks are great but I've only owned them for a few weeks
So far the socks are great but I've only owned them for a few weeks. They have a lifetime guarantee and cost $23. I will need to update this in 5 years to give a proper evaluation regarding the value of the socks.
