Encyclopedic Information About Knitting in the Round
Circular Knitting Workshop: Essential Techniques to Master Knitting in the Round by Margaret Radcliffe is a book for all knitting levels and for all knitters who wish to knit in the round. The patterns include sweaters, vests, hats, socks, mittens, gloves and shawls. There is a nice review of the types of needles required for knitting in the round. Types of casting on and joining are covered, along with ways to avoid tight cast ons and loose cast ons. Five basic cast ons are covered: the half-hitch cast-on, the knitted cast-on, the cable cast-on, the ribbed cable cast-on and the long-tail cast-on, all of which are useful for knitting. There is a nice section on finishing techniques and a nice section on ways to convert flat to circular. The projects are versatile and useful but the main strength of this book is the encyclopedic information it provides for knitting in the round. Whether you're new to knitting in the round or you are an old-timer, there will likely be information in this book that will be helpful to you. I recommend the book based on this information rather than on the patterns which are basic and can be found most anywhere.

Awesome Tips and Tri knitting
This is a wonderful reference book with different variations of how to begin with cast-ons, bind offs. ,helix knitting with practice patterns. I ordered for my mother’s birthday and one for myself, we both love this book. Mom has been knitting for years and her comment to me was “ I can still learn new ways of knitting with this book. She made the helix striped hat and said “Jim was wearing it when he got up this morning because he really likes it.” The book has wonderful photo illustrations on how to knit step by step fingers and thumbs on gloves and mittens, along with how to use two needles at a time, magic loop, double points and knitting on circular needles. You will learn how to knit socks. The book is loaded with a ton of helpful information. Great purchase for anyone interested in knitting and wants to learn new skills.

This should be your first knitting book.
I just received this and it is a heavy polished paper paperback. It will lay flat. It appears to be a series of photo tutorials....the best way for me to learn. I've been enjoying the 5 star reviews and quick glance tells me it is what they claim.I am a new knitter and all the other knitting books (too many) I've purchased have yet to keep my interest enough to learn what I need to know.I've been known to edit my reviews, so if you don't see an edit or star reduction, then you'll know it is truly as titled.

Good Reference for Circular Knitting
Since I knit almost everything on circular needles, this is a reference I wanted on the bookshelf. There is a lot of good information about cast ons, bind offs, and everything in between. Some of the tips an information were new to me, which is hard to accomplish since I have been knitting for many years. It is not so much a book for patterns, but there are a few included. I also teach knitting, so am always looking to add good references like this. More and more knitters have come over to the "circular side". !

This book is now a part of my Knitting Library. Loved it!
I borrowed this book from the library to see if it was something that I could use. The book contains several techniques, including several cast on and bind off methods that I can't wait to learn. The illustrations were excellent. The author also described in detail how to convert knit patterns using two needles to a pattern using circular needles. Also there were many examples of how to knit various toes for socks, attach sweater sleeves when knitting in the round, and many other topics that could be covered as separate books. I ended up ordering the book and will use it as a reference in all my knitting projects. Absolutely loved it and definitely recommend it. I wish I had come across this book earlier in my knitting life and I would not have struggled so much!

A Must Have...
Excellent, must have book in any serious knitter's library. Invaluable information to help male your knitting more enjoyable, stress-free, and less complicated. I would also like to say that I would also purchase from the seller again as well, ZenBookStore. Arrived quickly, well protected, in not just good shape, but excellent, and for rhe price difference of new versus used-it's a no brainer!!

Good book, just be sure you are ready for it if you are a beginner.
This is a good book, but not as "user-friendly" as I would have thought considering others' reviews.I can do the fundamentals of knitting and I have graduated to making those old fashioned Granny slippers. So I believed that I was ready for this book, however, I am not quite ready.I really want to knit a pair of socks. I need to find someone to get started me started on double-point needles, get some practice in and then I think I will be ready for the book.

Best book so far
Best book yet. I have lots of books about knitting. I love it even though I only use it as a leisure time activity. This book is amazing!!!! I don't need five more patterns of hats, mittens, or a sweater I will never make. This book it about technique and style. I love my circular needles and double point needles. this book is full of diagrams and pictures of finishes and cast ons. It has little tips and tricks that will change your knitting forever. It is my favorite book so far!

Easy to follow and lovely to read
I bought this as I had recently started to knit circularly and felt I needed some help. It is very informative and easy to follow - also easy to read. It doesn't have loads of patterns , but the ones it does have are lovely. It is a really good how to book - and I am now feeling sure I can try socks

Great technically but a bit dull...
I bought this book to brush up on knitting in the round. And this is undoubtedly a great book to have in your craft library if you want to extend your knitting prowess and master the art of circular knitting on various kinds of needles. There is no doubt about it being an excellent book in terms of the breadth of advice and the quality of instruction. But I can't help wishing the book had excited me more in terms of its design and layout, the colours used and the projects included. I found most of the projects dull and uninspiring and really wouldn't want to make any of them. But having said that, it does guide you through a wealth of techniques to explore which will, eventually, give you the skills you need to make your own designs. With a bit of imagination you can create some beautiful things with circular knitting. I just wish the book had showcased some 'wow factor' stuff in a gallery, perhaps, or something similar, to spur me onward.

O.K. for beginners at circular knitting.
If you've never tried knitting on circular needles, this book will be helpful for you. However, if, like me, you've been doing this for years, there may be little in it that is new to you. There are lots of little min-projects which you could try in order to test out techniques, but these are mainly for useless little objects that I would never bother to knit.

NOT an introduction to knitting in the round
There is no doubt that this is an extremely comprehensive book, packed full of illustrations. I have rated it three stars because it claims to be for all levels of knitting but this is a book for knitters with some experience of knitting in the round. I couldn't even learn how to cast on to DPN from this book. I had hoped that the book would help me to start circular knitting but it is far too advanced for me. I rarely return books but I returned this one because I know I will never use it.

A must have buy.
This is my second purchase of this book! This one is for my niece as her knitting in progressing. Its not a pattern book, although there are patterns for a hat, socks and a general guide to top down jumpers which is good. The explanation of the Kitchener stitch is very good and easy to follow. The cast on instructions are good. Basically its the best book for knitting in the round. I keep going back to it again and again. I hate knitting on straight pins now!

Fab book - a real masterclass
I knit. I can even knit well. I have knitted lots of things in my life but I have never really taken on circular knitting. The concept doesn't escape me - I knit socks so I understand knitting in rounds - however, there is more to circular knitting than that.I can recommend this book as the one to go to to help you get to grips with circular knitting. Lots of instructions that are easy to follow, lots of pictures (I am very much a visual learner) and lots of patterns to try out.Excellent book and highly recommended.

Good if you prefer to learn through books rather than ...
Very clear instructions and photos. This is one to get my head round, so when I have time and patience, I will conquer the art of knitting fiddly objects in the round. Good if you prefer to learn through books rather than classes.

a good guid for all kniitters at any level
This book is suitable for all levels of knitters, even those who have done little or no knitting on circular needles. Visually this is nicely put together, with good photographs and diagrames. The layout allows you to work through the book covering fairly basic and simply things, right through to more advanced sweaters. It also gives ideas, and shows how you can be creative with colours and patterns. I like this book, and feel you gat value for money at it's most price.
