Miss Fiona's Stupendous Pie Paperback – Picture Book, July 26, 2011

Halloween books are so plentiful, so charming, and so delicious that my family devours them. We love Halloween children's book! With that being said THIS ONE is my family's ALL TIME FAVORITE Halloween picture book. It is so well written. The rhythm and rhyme are so on point that is a joy to read, and never feels awkward or forced the way many poems do. The storyline is immersive and the artwork marries it perfectly. We cannot and will not go a Halloween season without reading this one through several times, alongside a slice of pumpkin pie, of course.

I was gifted this book by my boyfriend (now husband). I immediately fell in love with the tender story, the moral (who cares how cooky someone looks when there's goodness deep within?!), and warm illustrations. 2 years later, it also became the favorite of our firstborn son, who has come to associate Halloween with pumpkin pie now. So of course he had to have his own copy, plus I bought copies for nieces and nephews, and talked my local library into buying 10 copies when I found out they didn't have one. And during October, they can't keep that book on the shelves!

I bought this book last fall to have at my house to read to my granddaughter. She lives50 minutes from my house. Then, I took it with me when I flew to Ohio to visit my younggrandsons. I enjoyed reading it to them as much as they enjoyed hearing it. They requestedthat I read it several more times during my visit. It is a really cool book!So, I bought this copy to take with me when I fly to Ohio next month. I know they will lovehaving their own copy.

I bought this book because my daughter's name is Fiona and we have a large pumpkin patch. I wasn't really expecting much, but it is a great, sweet little book! I wasn't expecting it to be so high quality. Everything is fantastic: the paper it's printed on feels great, the illustrations are beautiful and the writing is great. I've been very pleased with this purchase and have recommended it for purchase at the library I work at.

My daughter's name is Fiona and so I had to get this book. I really love the message -- just because you look different doesn't mean you are a scary person. It is very lyrical and the illustrations are wonderfully detailed. We are really enjoying this great book.

My daughter is named Fiona. I purchased this for one of her birthday presents. She is thrilled with the story turns out the witch isn't scary after all and she loves the pictures. Great Halloween story! Can't wait to make some pumpkin pie with her soon.

I read this rollicking, rhyming, read-aloud at our library's Halloween Story Time. It was a huge hit! The pleasantly creepy text builds toward a fantastic surprise ending! Great for multi-generational groups. Be sure to give Miss Fiona an appropriately cackly voice. Add this to your list of Halloween classics!
