Large Scale Warship Models: From Kits to Scratch Building Kindle Edition

Books on R/C model ship building are hard to find. I am a long time R/C plane builder with 40 plus years of experience. Ships are a whole new ball game and there is much to learn. This book is a great starting point and will give you the basics to mid level knowledge for a great start. As with other books its short fall if you call it that is that it doesn't go into the ways of extracting the shapes(width/height/angles) of the superstructure(any structure above the deck) walls/fronts/backs etc from a drawing to material for cut out and use. Touches on it but more detailed drawings of "how to" would be helpful to new and old modelers alike. Still worth the money for its contents.

It is not really a scrathbuilding, he buys ready hulls, and buys ready made fittings and assembles the whole thing. It is pretty much modified kit building, he just buys parts from several places. True scratch building if you make a hull from scratch and making your parts and fittings. I give it 3 stars for good photos and description.

Though i usually do things my own way I always look to other modelers for ideas or different approaches. His model work is xlnt so it was an interesting read, great for modelers ready to go into large rc but also large static modeling. good job

An outstanding treatise on what is for me a fascinating hobby. This book is filled with sights, advice, and great ideas for creating and enhancing my hobby experience.

Excellent book for a boat builder

This is not what I expected. Very focused on scratch building, with no advise about kits currently on the market. Only a few ships were featured with photos. I would have made a different purchase.

If you build scale model ships, get this book!

I have started RC warship modelling - and needed a how-to guide to fit out the fiberglass hull in 1/96 scale I acquired. This book is a simple yet comprehensive guide to the process. Buy this book if RC warships are your hobby!

This is the sort of book that I have searched for, for many years, with information on where and who to source items from and how to build a well detailed model from start to finish.A book to keep to hand when building!
