ABBREE Foldable CS Tactical Antenna SMA-Male Dual Band VHF UHF 144/430Mhz for Yaesu FT-70DR TYT MD-380 Wouxun Two Way Radio

Used it on Yaesu FT70D. This antenna didn't perform very well. I'm disappointed since so many folks wrote glowing reviews. Might be a fluke of quality control.

Works well, preferred over a whip for keeping the radio compact when not in use.

I had high hopes for the 13" ABBREE Tactical Antenna. It works well on 2m but less so on 70cm. On 2m the SWR is <1.5 across the band. On 70cm the lower end of the band it tests well at around SWR 1.2 but it sweeps up to 3.7 at the high end and is >2.5 on repeater frequencies in my area. Please see attached charts. It could be a quality control problem. I thought about buying a second one to see if reacted the same, but have not. I would have given this antenna 5 stars if it performed as well on 70cm as it does on 2m.It was actually bought for use on one of my MMDVM/Pi-star Hotspots I built. The rubber-ducky that came with the MMDVM board is junk(SWR is between 4.45 and 5 across 70cm band). A replacement antenna should be my best option. I finally decided to run it on the 2m band which has a great SWR. I am able to use my FTM-400DR back to my hotspot, at 10mw output on the MMDVM, in the house at about 3/4 mile distance and that is over a hill. For the money I am satisfied with this antenna since I am using it exclusively on 2m.
