Pretty good
8.50 a challah is quite a lot ,( I am sure it has to do with the free shipping) but this Challah waspretty good. It arrived in just 2 days (I was fearful it would be a week) and was fresh. If you have ever tasted a Zomick's Challah- there is no comparison. I could not find where to getZomick's again ,(I even tried to call their NY store, but they don't answer) so this is a very reasonablealternative.

Bread heaven! Just my opinion. Try it yourself!
I am going to end up the size of a house if I don't start counting calories with this bread! It makes the most delious French toast I've ever tasted. Toasted with cheese, warmed with herb butter, just a quick snack plain, dips, oils, olives. We continue trying new things and so far it is the most versital bread I've ever had. I remember eating it right out of the oven with honey as a child! This is as wonderful as my memories! Moist, rich, perfect crust, smells like heaven. the two pack is our best buy. I leave one on the counter covered and freeze one otherwise they would both be done in a couple of days. Everyone that walks into my house goes, gets bread and cheese some fruit before they say "hi". Exceptional in every way.

My Order Came from a Grocery Store Chain
I was excited to get this challah for my husband after reading all the great reviews, but I didn't receive what the other reviewers received. I didn't get bread from a bakery but from a grocery store, Winn Dixie. It looked nothing like the picture and came in a bag with a grocery store tag on it. We gave it a chance anyway thinking that the bakery was supplying their bread to Winn Dixie, but we quickly realized that it was dry and stale. We're on the west coast and don't have access to really good challah, so needless to say, we are very disappointed. I still want to try what the other reviewers are raving about, but I'm afraid to order again.

THE Challah bread for those of us that don't live on the east coast.
The most delicious Challah bread I can get! I live in a small town in southern Kentucky and the only way to get Challah bread is online. This is the best I've ever had. Quality, texture, freshness and flavor are all spot on. We use it for everything from French toast and bread puddings to sandwiches and hor's doeuvres , whether it's fondue or bruschetta. It's an excellent substitute for sweet Hawaiian bread, although not quite as sweet. This is delicious all on it's own, with no enhancement. Can't say enough about this gem of a find. Thank you, Beigel's!

You will keep on ordering so you're never without a loaf.
Best challah ever. I grew up on this stuff. I now live in a rural area and would have to drive miles to get a challah. I order one every week to week and a half, depending on whether we've had company for dinner. The extra price is well worth it. Waited to write this for several months to see if quality was maintained. It is always fresh. Took a loaf with us to Richmond, VA this past weekend. Didn't last 3 days. Oh yeah, makes great French toast.
