May Doug Kmiec regain health
An extraordinary book. Doug Kmiec, whom I know from several group meetings prior to his ambassadorship, shares his great challenges in life: living with the knowledge that a momentary lapse of attentiveness caused the death of two of his best friends, as well as the professional failure of his faith-based initiatives at the State Department,I've read almost nothing like it. I am most reminded of the Book of Job, as Doug searches to understand why he suffers so much. Fascinating read. I pray fervently that this accomplished and kind man can step back onto the public stage and improve our civil discourse.

A moving meditation on the redemptive meaning of suffering and the lives of two saintly people
Ambassador Doug Kmiec has written a moving meditation on the redemptive meaning of suffering, the inspiring lives of two saintly people -- Monsignor John Sheridan and Sister Mary Campbell -- and his own path of striving to discern and conform to God's will.
