Very sturdy and very tall
So this product didn’t end up working for us for what we needed it for. We bought it for gutter cleaning from the ground and hoped it would work but we have old gutters that we secured to the house with very long “nails” every 12 inches so it was just not going to work. BUT, it is super sturdy, very heavy- in a good way- the top is very heavy metal and we didn’t return it bc we suspect it will come in handy for other things.

Good for so many uses
I'm a lousy throw. so getting a rope up into a tree to guide it down or to tie off a branch used to be a challenge, but no more. With a long pole and this tool I can safely and easily get the job done. Saves my shoulder too!

Good product for the money
Seems sturdy, light weight and holds well when expanded. Not sure about plastic hook. It’s heavy but seems like it will be too brittle for rough waters.

Recommend
Have had the metal one for over 5 years. Purchased to install Christmas Lights, and to pull the occasional branch. While have not yet tried it on thick branches, it has gotten the job done. Very durable, able to place it on a standard pole easily. Good size, not too big, not too small. Not overly heavy, so can comfortably grip the pole and not worry about it making the pole top heavy.

Pleased!
After failing to find help cleaning the gutters on my new house that are too high to reach with the ladder I have, I got this pole with a hook. This was by far, the superior choice over dying from falling off the roof or ladder, paying more than twice as much as the pole for a one-time cleaning service, or just letting the gutters spill over. This fall, I have cleaned out the full gutters three times, and each time was glad I did because it rained shortly after and drainage was good each time. I used the pole to extend a bucket of water up to the gutter to test my work, too. I have also used the pole + hook (plus a creatively fashioned duct tape loop on the cap) to replace a missing end-cap on the 2nd storey gutter. Yes, the pole did initially have issues of spinning at the extensions, however tightening the screws on the extension locks worked well to stop that. Extending from the bottom before the top helps to keep the pole stable, as well. It was long enough for the whole operation only needing the bottom two extensions, it could've gotten much longer than I needed for two storeys. At one point, I used the pole to give the gutter end-cap a couple of good "whacks" -20 ft in the air- to tamp it down on the glue, and the cap bent a little but the pole was rugged as ever. I'm happy; it looks secure, my pole was none the worse for wear, and I stayed on the ground for the whole thing. And, it was lightweight enough, with nice cushioned grips, that this out of shape 40 something arthritic woman was the one to do all of the above. I was surprised that the pole came with an unexpected, free duster attachment, thanks! I'm also looking forward to getting the bulb-replace attachment for a 2nd storey flood light, as well, and to seeing all the potentials with my pole - maybe I'll fish for garbage down the ravine off my property...

Not sturdy& strong enough to twist open sky lights
We bought it to teach our porch skylights that have a twist loop on them to pop em open and closed. The pole extends and seems sturdy, but it just doesn’t tighten enough to allow me to reach up and hook into the metal loop and twist. Once I reach a certain point, the pole “untwists” it’s connection with the hook; and therefore, I cannot finish opening or closing the skylight. Frustrating. And yes we’ve tried to right the hook tighter into the pole. Does nothing with the added pressure of the twisting motion once it’s hooked into window.

Best thing since sliced bread for your pickup truck
I was getting tired of having to hop into my truck bed to retrieve my stuff and then I found this. This thing makes life so much easier, just thread it on any length threaded pole. I used a 5 foot metal pole/handle and it works perfectly. You can put whatever length pole you want, but 5 feet was perfect for what I needed.

Useful for many out of reach jobs. No ladders needed.

We have high trees at the back of the garden and wanted a pole to put feeders on the branches. This pole and hook are perfect and extend far enough to reach lots of higher up branches.
