Science Olympiad parent approved
Bought this for Science Olympiad from seeing other parents using this the year prior. Our child signed up for Mousetrap Vehicle AGAIN! We were not thrilled. Year prior we spent countless hours, days, weeks making the perfect mousetrap vehicle. We built around 3 and our kid’s friends parents build 4 or 5. You could imagine the stress this brought to our family. Well when our kids came home and was so happy about signing up for this endeavor again, we were shocked she didn’t remember the pain and anguish from the last year. I quickly bought this and it was PAINLESS and RELAXING. This is easy and fun, the way it should have been the first time.Instructions are kid friendly. Our 10 years did most of the work.Super convenient!

It worked. Price is a little high for what it is.
I ordered this on two day shipping, and it came on time for a school project. It was missing one of the plastic CDs, so I just used a junk one that I have. The brand for this product is wrong, this is actually a mousetrap car from DocFizzix.com from years ago, I'd assume that they are just re-branding them and selling off left over stock. As for the quality, its okay. The CDs are flimsy and I recommend using real disks for ease of build. Also I found out that it's actually cheaper to buy this off of their store, for like 15 dollars. After I finally managed to throw it together, it performed okay. This thing works best when you have it on longer and flatter surfaces, unlike my test trials (ie. a shorter hallway and on carpet). So, with all of this considered, I give this a 3/5. Is it worth 20 dollars? No, more like 15, or even 10. I also included some images of the build and the package it came in, some of the images may be poor quality so I apologize.

Easy Kids School Project
Maybe a bit difficult for a gradeschool student to assemble independently but should be easy for most adults with some basic mechanical aptitude. Both wood glue and super glue, or maybe Gorilla glue, are required for assembly and not included. A pair of light clamps is also helpful for gluing the 3 pieces of wood together to form the chassis. A bit pricey for what it is but all components needed are included. A set of more rigid CD-Rs were swapped for the included wheels. Worked fine when assembled.

Good enough for 3rd place out of 25.
My daughter ended up with an 87’ run using this kit for a physics class project. Much simpler than trying to do it from scratch. The resulting car is great for a school project. By design it’s not made to be crashed into a fleet of toy trucks by an 8 year old.It did its job at our home and is destined for the trash can during a cleaning project a year from now ;).

Bad, bad, bad
I ordered this item for my schools Physics Olympics. I had late notice, so I paid for one-day shipping. It did not come, so I talked to customer service and they refunded my shipping. The next day, the package did not arrive, again, so I talked to costumer service, again. They gave me a full refund and said it would arrive on the next business day. It did, but that left me with one night to build the car. When I opened the package, I noticed the CD disks (aka wheels) were clear, not orange/yellow. Also, one piece of wood was already cracked. I didn't really mind this, I put some glue on and it was fine. I was going through the checklist of items and noticed that the washers, string, and zip-tie were all missing. Because it was the night before the project was due, I didn't have time to run around and find the right sized washer, so I improvised with duct tape and orthodontic elastics. I won't go into details on that, but lets just say it did not work very well. I found string in my kitchen which seemed okay. As for the zip-tie, I used elastics, which was fine for the job needed. As for the directions, I could not figure out how the rod fit with the mousetrap. When I set the trap up to go and released, nothing happened.

Super easy to make
I am giving it 5 star rating as it’s supereasy to assemble just if you can keep few things in mind..1) change the cd’s as in in the pack they are flimsy.2) use hot glue gun to stick the parts .3) on the rim of the cd’s put a rubber( I had cut a balloon and put it) it makes the rotation of wheels smooth. That’s it it’s supereasy ...
