Grayscale Flower Coloring Book: A Grayscale Coloring Book for Adults of Beautiful Flowers Paperback – Large Print, May 5, 2019

No doubt about it, the pages in this grayscale coloring book are filled with closeup images of some lovely blossoms. Inside you will find roses, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, a waterlily, tulips and more.Most of the grayscale is not overly dark, and the images are well-defined. There is one page; however, that is waaaay too dark. The images are large and are surrounded by a white ½ inch border/space. The non-perforated paper is lightweight...about the same as 24 lb. computer paper. It has a hint of tooth/texture to it. The paper feels smooth; however, when I used colored pencils, the color did not glide smoothly. I found it necessary to add additional layers, to cover the pores that appeared with one layer of color. I used an alcohol colorless marker for blending. Sometimes that worked well...and sometimes it did not. BTW, do not use a colorless blending pencil because it will bring up the grayscale ink and ruin your color application.I used a variety of coloring tools including soft core and hard core colored pencils, pastel chalk pencils, brush pens and markers. As I anticipated, the brush pens caused lotsa’ bleed-through, and none of the pencils provided the smooth laydown that I wanted. Maybe it is my technique; however, I do not normally have that kind of problem on every image that I try.The book is a bit smaller than some. It only contains 25 coloring pages plus a page with “This book belongs to:” Most images are not difficult and should be suitable for a colorist of most any level, but there are a few that are a bit more intricate.With all my grumps….it is still a fun book.3.75 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

It's great but really hard to see the lines to make sure you color the right flower. The book was worth the money I spent on it.As you can see in the picture I haven't done the rest yet but will complete.

Some pictures were too light and some were too dark. I did like this book better than most of the flower books!

This is a new way of coloring for me and a challenge. The pages in this book are nice, but I admit the first one I tried to color, I screwed up bad. I will do some more research on this different way of coloring before I attempt another one! Happy Coloring!

Coloring Book Cafe has so many gorgeous books and this one is no exception. There are many large grayscale floral images in this book so there's not a ton of detail. This makes them easier to color.

Not the book I was looking for because the photographs are so close up.
