We were looking for a little different game for our grandson and family. Non-electronic or computer and relies on wits and strategy. Easy to learn, hard to master. The quality of the product met expectations. The pieces don't feel cheap and every fits neatly into the nice case.

I am very pleased with the quality of this game. The pieces are really well done and the cloth board is also surprisingly well crafted as well. Love the pouch that came with it too. Very excited to play this game with family and friends. Definitely would recommend purchasing this. Also, it came earlier than expected and no damages.

Fun and unique game and pieces. But for the price wish the bag and cloth play mat were a bit more durable and hefty materials.

Was delivered quickly. This set did come with a box for storage. It’s also a smaller box making it easier to pack away. All the pieces was in great shape. I found one that had a super small chip but it’s not even noticeable. I only found it because I looked over the pieces real carefully looking at the details. Since it’s such a small chip I’m not taking a star away. I’m not a fan of the gaming board but unless you wanna pay 400 bucks this is what you get. I will be trying to make my own wooden board sometime in the future. Maybe I’ll even break down and buy a set made out of the ox bone. Right now this is perfect.

Totally cool game. I like the authentic look of the game pieces and cloth board. I like the pouch that holds the game pieces and board. Once we figured out how to play the game, it became addicting. Great with ale or Meade! SKOAL!

Amazon is asking if the game is easy to learn. It's chesslike, in that you can likely continue to improve as you practice. The rules were clearer online than in the instruction sheet: there are several variations of play, and not all of them are referenced in the product documentation. The pieces are quite attractive, and capture the spirit of both oldness and newness, elegant yet simple, sturdy but inexpensive.

The set arrived missing a white piece. Considering the low price it doesnt seem worth bothering with a return but the set will look silly with whatever I end up using as a stand in. Its a shame, the pieces are nice.

Fantastic game, very strategic and great to teach my grandchildren a proper 'thinking' game. It is supplied with a decorative linen cloth board which is great to take to the local pub, but to be honest I only bought this for the lovely detailed resin game pieces. It's easy to make a wooden board and use woodstain to decorate it. All the family and grandchildren are addicted to playing this game, so it's taking pride of place on the coffee table. Looks a lot better than the price suggests. I noticed some reviews saying the pieces chip easily. I'm not sure how, or maybe they have changed them, but the pieces I received are absolutely perfect and look like they'd last a lifetime. Delighted with this purchase, and great price too !

This set is really well made. The pieces have a nice heft, they feel like they're carved out of bone. The board is cloth but decent quality and I expect it to last. Gameplay itself is easy to learn but the strategy is very different than chess or Go. Play is dynamic, it's not so easy to build a solid strategy and the fact that each side has a very different goal makes things really interesting. Loving to have this piece of history on my bookshelf, it definitely won't be collecting dust!
