Wiggly toddler life saver
Updated Review: Beautiful performance traveling with my 18 month old. Aquarium test run went great. Then we flew from one end of the coast to another, with a layover. My child does not like the act of getting in the backpack, but once he's up and can wave to people face-height, he loves it. The bottom space stores more than you'd think. I fit a small diaper wet/dry bag, a child's short coat, a gallon bag of various smaller snack bags, a gallon bag with miscellaneous stuff, and my water bottle. Then in the attached small backpack, I fit anti bac wet wipes, wallet, IDs, tablet, sippy cup, small snack bags, and had wiggle room.I see reviews that talk about poor fit. I am 5' 8" and 210 lbs. I'm fairly strong. I have to cinch the top side clips (baby chin/shoulder height) as tight as they go. I draw down and cinch my shoulder straps until I feel like bebe's weight is shifted onto my shoulders - you should not have to lean forward/against the weight of your kiddo. When I do that, it places the waist strap at my natural waist/belly button. Luckily, it also means that the bottom of the bag, if I'm standing still, can kind of balance on the top of my 🍑 and take some of the weight off my shoulders. All that said, for 8 hours of air travel, moving around terminals, etc. I found this to be an amazing solution to keep my hands free and toddler happy. Phil and Ted, I have like no social media or followers but if you need a parent to promote your product, hit me up.Original review: Does your child writhe until they drop from your arms onto the floor? Is your baby lord of the slow slide off your hip? Does your tot protest the stroller - loudly? Have you tried a harness and leash for your kiddo only for them to get ahead of themselves and fall backwards on the floor like a Looney Tunes character? Does your toddler have all of the ability and none of the executive function? THIS BACKPACK IS FOR YOU. My 18 month old bebe is all of these things. I literally have a trainer to gain strength and mobility because of my little one. I am mom. I am jungle gym. And it makes going anywhere for more than 30 minutes a real toss up. I found this backpack searching for a solution to solo air travel with my kid and based on it being the only backpack I found with airline dimensions, I got a used like new. And it's amazing. We demo'd it around the house this morning. We are taking it to the aquarium. But based on moving around the house, I think we finally found something that works. And my lil guy loves it. Didn't want to get out. I honestly don't care about fit or comfort given my needs, but it is fine. Hallelujah, amen. Will update the review with findings from the aquarium. Godspeed to you all, you're doing great.

Amazingly light, compact backpack carrier
We have two little ones, so actually purchased both this as well as the phil&teds Escape carrier. We love them both as they each have features that work well for the purpose we purchased for. This one is by far and away lighter and more compact. It does, however, have the small backpack and another storage compartment to put diapers, wipes, etc. Our kiddos are both pretty small, but we have found that it works best to put the older one in this backpack as it is lighter and the Escape seems to offer more support for the baby (we waited to use until he had mastered sitting up on his own, otherwise we had him in a wrap). The Escape offers more security and support for little ones, but is slightly more heavy and bulky. Overall, we love them both and would buy again. We find it is much easier to get around than with a double stroller, particularly if you are traveling, hiking, etc.

Great comfortable product
Great Product. Our son loves it - I am 6'3, so he get to sit high and see everything from a different vantage point. Now for the real review:1. This "backpack" is light and well-made, and is also quite compact once collapsed.2. The child SITS in this carrier and does not hang in it on his legs, causing discomfort3. Great support straps on the hips, thus distributing the weight from the shoulder and back (carried out 27lbs son for 3 hours in this thing)4. Tons of pockets/storage space.5. Collapsible supporting leg, making it easier to place the child in and out of the carrier, by setting it down on a flat surface (bench, car trunk)Our only gripe is that is does not come with a canopy and that the metallic upper portion of the child's back support is not padded enough.

Shoddy craftsmanship
This was a great idea in theory, but on the second day of wearing it, the metal frame started to push through the material on the outside and underneath. After just a few months of extremely light use (as in less than 8 times of wearing), the metal frame had completely worn through the bottom pouch where you store all of your stuff, so we have a giant hole and can't use the bottom. It had also worn through the outside and has become dangerous. This is a very serious design flaw.In addition, another design flaw is the lack of padding or ability for your child to fall asleep when in it. We created a custom pillow that ties on so she can sleep leaning forward, but this is an oversight by the designers. The packaging shows a slight female wearing it, but be warned this is really only for men to wear- even on the tightest setting a normal to slim female will be swimming inside it. You need very broad shoulders. Not a problem for us since my husband was the one who wanted it.All in all, really wanted to love it, but it's not longer safe to wear or usable without the storage underneath and the design flaws should be addressed by Phil and Ted's. People stop my hubby all the time to ask about the product. He shows it off and really loved getting this, but the truth is, the product just isn't good enough.Photos are from the first month of use - I don't have it on me to take a more recent one with the larger holes and hole in the bottom.
