Deco 79 Aluminum Compass Armillary Globe, 12" x 11" x 15", Silver

The Benzara Aluminum Armillary that I received is even prettier than the one pictured. It is highly polished, mostly solid aluminum with a hollow base that is slightly brushed in texture--although still bright and shiny. (It has some kind of soft, protective cover on the bottom to protect your furniture from scratches.) In the photo, the bolts that hold the rings in place are dark and not screwed in well. But the bolts on the piece that I received were chrome-plated and fit flush with the rings; and the spacer pieces that the bolts passed thru on their way into the rings were very straight--again, unlike in the item picture.I did tighten a few of the bolts a little more to keep the movable rings in the positions that I liked. Only one ring wouldn't tighten as much as I wanted, so I added a tiny piece of foil between the bolt and the ring, and that did the trick and doesn't show at all. It would have been fine without this, but that one ring would have swung a little more than I'd hoped it would.I think the piece is slightly different in size than described, though--although CLOSE. I measured mine at about 11 1/2" wide by 15" tall. (I only mention this in case someone wants to put theirs in a tight spot.)I was a little nervous about ordering this, since I saw it on a number of sites with no reviews. But if you like the item as pictured, you should REALLY be happy with the armillary that you receive--if it's like mine.

I guess I didn't pay much attention to the listed dimensions of this item when I ordered it, because I was shocked just now to see how large it is person. The sphere feels nice and sturdy and has a lovely shine to it. I'd even pay more for this product, though it always feels nice to get great value for less $$. :)I will be ordering more products from this seller.

This piece was just the accent I was looking to get for my garden. It looks to be bronze colored aluminum, so weather shouldn’t be a problem. Needs to be partially assembled. The directions aren’t the greatest, but it’s not a Saturn V, you’ll figure it out.

This armillary makes a really cool sculptural art piece. I have it set on my nightstand, under a large table lamp, and I love the way light reflects off of it.The reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because some of the screws look old and rusty and are not flush with the surface.

Picture appears to have different color rings, marble bace made out of pieces not high polish.

I love my armillary, it’s exactly what I needed to complete my decorating project! It’s made of good quality it does not look cheap at all I just love it!
