Excellent yoga and other fitness mat
I've been practicing yoga for 40 years, and this is the best mat I've ever come across. As an acid test, I tried the boat - no pressure on my tailbone (coccyx), which I normally feel.On the other hand, if it was too thick and soft, I wouldn't be able to balance on it. I find this mat perfect for balancing on - therefore has the perfect match of thickness, softness (no tailbone pain) and firmness (can balance on it). It's grippy on both sides, so non-slip. The underside has narrow lines, the top-side has an interesting but subtle pattern. It's reversible. There's no distracting marketing name or other nonsense. It's remarkably light and easy to carry. It was a bit too curled the very first time I unwrapped it, but it quickly found a flat shape during use, and from second use rolls up easily and lies down flat immediately. It's made of TPE, which is supposed to be eco-friendly, in the sense that it contains no toxic materials (unlike PVC, for example). TPE is naturally anti-bacterial and easy to clean. The black colour took a little while to get used to. Normally I go for dark purple/magenta, but black is fine. It's extra long, which I like. I'm 172cm tall (5' 7") and the mat is 183cm long - so lying down I've still got 11cm spare - nice not to have ankles on the cold floor. Most cheap mats are exactly my height, so I have to shuffle around to get head and feet off the floor. No problem with this mat though. All in all, a lovely, practical mat that makes my yoga practice all the more pleasurable.

A bit too slippery
Until now I've been using the mats at the yoga studio, which are well-used and a bit stinky. It was nice to try out a brand new mat. This one is slightly longer than the standard ones at the studio, and the level of padding is good. However I found this doesn't give me the grip I'm used to. Maybe it's the TPE material, which I have never tried before, but when I used this as intended (with the side with the dove on it facing upwards) I found that my hands and feet kept slipping. I turned it the other way, with the wavy side upwards, and found this improved matters. But since this is not the way it's meant to be used, the wavy ridges imprinted themselves in the palms of my hands.I don't know why I seem to be so different to other reviewers, but for me it is just not sufficiently grippy and I would not recommend this mat.

An excellent premium exercise mat
This yoga mat is double sided, black and rubbery (it is made from thermoplastic rubber which is environmentally-friendly). It is double-sided and has a textured finish which makes it non slip. It is lovely and thick (6mm) and yet, lightweight, comfortable and easy to clean. It is long-lasting and the material means that it will wear very well. This is an ideal mat to take along and be used on hardwood church floors where many yoga sessions are held. It is also ideal for hard, uncarpeted flooring at home. This mat is not only useful for yoga but also for all land-based training exercises including sit ups, press ups and exercises requiring core stability and work out. This mat measures 183 cm x 61 cm and is long enough for positions which require prostrate and/or supine extensions. This is without doubt an excellent and premium product - and is the best of the rest. My only comment would be that a choice of colours should be made available. Nevertheless, this would not deter me from purchasing the product.

Grippy & cushioned
I haven't used a yoga mat before, having normally done floor exercises at home on our wooden flooring. This mat certainly makes sit-ups, side leg raises, etc. much more comfortable than on a hard floor, and also provides impressive levels of grip for press-ups even with sweaty palms. There's certainly no risk of the mat sliding on the floor, or of hands or feet slipping on the mat. If anything it is almost too grippy, as it tugs on my clothes when changing positions. It's also handy for lowering free weights onto without risking damaging the floor. The only very minor niggles are that, at 183 cm, it's just slightly too short to contain my hands and feet at the same time when doing a plank (I'm 6 foot), and one end has a curl that doesn't like staying flat when it's unrolled.

A Very Good Yoga/Exercise Mat.
This Blue Dove Yoga Non Slip Eco Friendly mat is brilliant.Firstly I'm 6'1” tall and this mat is big enough for me.Some in the past have been far too short so top marks there.Next the construction is superb.Non slip which is essential for an exercise mat and it looks durable so won't fall apart after just a few uses.6mm is just right for a good weight insulation ration. I can easily roll my mat up into a portable friendly size. Now it's made from TPE which, the makers assure me is a better substance that the 'traditional' PVC ones I would have thought grass mats were more traditional but that's a minor point indeed. All in all this is a very good Yoga/exercise mat that performs better than others. So recommended.

Excellent Yoga Mat
You wouldn't think you could get something as simple as a yoga mat "wrong" but I've been surprised on more than a few occasions over the years. Thankfully on this occasion I'm very happy indeed with this one.First of all it's so light. It's easy to carry if you need to and rolls up very easily too. It's a good size (I'm approaching six foot and it's plenty large enough for me) and I've found no problems with slipping on either hard floor or carpet. It's thick enough to provide a good cushion and is made from eco-friendly material too. The fact it's waterproof is a nice bonus too.All in all, if you're looking for a great quality yoga mat look no further than this!
