Mythrojan Hand Forged Functional Pirate Cutlass Medieval Sword with Scabbard

There were a lot of swords on the market, but I finally settled on this one. It was great! The steel is good, and the sword has a good heft to it. The brass pommel and guard are sturdy, and the blade absorbs shock well. I had a 30 degree edge put on it, and tested it on a milk jug full of water. I didn't even feel any resistance as it sliced cleanly through the jug. I also stabbed some bottles with it, before and after the edge was on. When the sword arrived, it had a blunt edge. The point still is pointy, even without a professional putting an edge on. Hence, this could be slightly dangerous as a stage combat sword, since it could still stab someone. The sword is tough enough for a real battle, and looks good enough for wall hanging and/or display. The scabbard was great as well, and I bought an accessory called a sword frog that allows me to hang it on a belt. Overall, this was a great sword, and at this price point you almost definitely will not find a better cutlass. It is indeed hand forged as well, you can tell when you look at it closely. Great craftsmanship.

Do you want something lightweight and practical with perfect fit and finish? Buy something 5 times the price. As for this piece, it’s an incredible value for its price. Sturdy, with a very pleasing design. Perfect for costumes or stage combat. Would definitely buy again.

Excellent robust blade and appropriate balance. The bell guard could use a little more finish work to smooth out the rough edges.

This sword is really great! I bought it for stage combat in a pirate drama series and really love it. The weight is fairly balanced and it looks fabulous. For the price, it's the best stage combat sword I've seen.

Beautiful sword! After holding it in your hand, and smelling the fresh leather wrapping of the scabbard, you can tell that this is a very well-made sword, and you absolutely cannot beat it for the price point.I was so impressed with the craftsmanship of this sword, that I ordered my baldric from Mythrojan, instead of buying it elsewhere.

Looks beautiful. Way too heavy to be functional. Handguard restricts movement. If I ever run away with a band of pirates I'll have to get another sword. But this will do for cosplay.
