Great tool that made the job simple
Great tool, it made the bearing assembly so easy to remove and installation of the new one was equally easy too.

pins bearing forces watch out
As in other reviews mentioned the pins can bend. Mine did not because I took extra care about. On a Fox 1.4 (= Polo) I installed the extraction halves and used then the wheel bolts against them, one small turn after the next, to do the first bearing move (crack off the seat), these five bolts produce a huge force, the hub is anyhow lost, it was corroded and so very hard to pull. The puller bearing must be correct assembled on outer side of tool to avoid damage and reduce side forces byy torque on pins when turning the large central screw. Once on the screw the O-ring holds it so that it can basically not be taken off. And then does this shaft with bearing not fit back in box with the bearing mounted. Cut out some inside box plastic then it fits. Could be done factory, this extra space ... If you can make your own thicker pins (all along larger diameter) do so before first attempt. Refit wheel bearing is difficult, because alignment with hole isnt easy with all the loose parts. But I got it with "some persuasion" and without anything damaged. The spline of drive shaft can be stuck. If thats the case it needs another puller to press it in (out). Dont forget to remove brake sensor before pulling bearing (there is no manual, but some online videos for Polo to get the idea). I had only few days to fix bearing, so could not wait for garage, hence DIY + risk. Otherwise let garage use original more expensive tools.

Did the the job effectively.
Have not left a review in a long time on any amazon purchases. I have left this review, as I was hesitant in buying a relatively cheap tool compared to Laser Tools which are excellent tools and do the task well, day in, and day out in the garage. but also expensive for a one off job to do at home. I read the mixed reviews and bought it and the tool did the the task effectively and quickly. as long as you watch any video on Youtube on this tool, you to take care in the extraction and installation when using this tool, it will work as described. For clarity, I paid for this tool with my own money and have not sponsored by the seller or tool maker.

Faulty machining made it useless
We are sorry we had to return this item but feel we should offer a full description of our reason for return as follows: We opened the bearing fitting kit which was well packaged and with no signs of damage. We had our car ready and with wheels and brakes removed etc. ready to fit the bearings with the kit. We prepared and assembled the bearing and kit and started to tighten the threaded centre shaft to pull the bearing hub free. After several turns by hand the threaded bar locked up solid and we could not rotate it any further. It was not under tension at this point only hand tight. We dismantled the whole thing and tried to thread the nut supplied down the shaft. Upon reaching about half way down the threaded bar with the nut supplied it locked up solid. There was a fault with the thread on the bar which was preventing the nut travelling the full length of the bar. This meant we could not gain full travel when trying to pull out the bearing on the car. This is a manufacturing fault with the thread and not something we had done as we had not applied any tension at this stage due to the lack of travel. As we had the car up on stands and in pieces and also on a Sunday, we decided to try and rectify the problem by inspecting the thread and to see if we could clear the defect ourselves. We could see some bad machining within the thread and lightly filed it to try and get the nut to pass over the bad thread section. We could not and again the nut seized up. We tried reversing the nut and again it seized. We put the bar in a vice and applied some force to try and get the nut over the bad section but it was locking up solid every time right in the middle of the bar. After 3 hours of trying we decided in desperation to utilise what thread we had available and also use some spacers to allow us to do the job. This made the job very awkward and time consuming as well as dangerous. We worked into the night to get the job done. This tool was useless due to the bad thread section and that is down to bad manufacturing so I’m sorry but even though we used the kit I would not attempt to use it again. We are returning for a refund and next time I will source from a reputable manufacturer.

This tool was excellent. I was very nervous after reading all the negative reviews. But this is one of those cases of with fast, cheap, good. You can only choose two of those. This tool is good and cheap, but you have to nurse it a bit. Grease everything to within an inch of it's life. Smear the bearing with a LOT of grease, and take a brush, and work the grease into all the threads of the threaded rod. Then it really does it's job. Removed six wheel bearings today, on extremely rusted hubs. They came out no problem. Of course you have to use a longer ratchet or a breaker bar, but with all the grease helping to reduce friction, it was not an insane amount of force that was needed. Also - if your ABS sensor is seized so you have to leave it in, you can flip the part that you would use to pull out the bearing, so the smaller end is against the bearing. Then you have about 10mm of travel before you hit the sensor, so you can crack the retaining ring. After the ring is cracked, remove the metal ring used to push the bearing, and just thread the nut directly onto the threaded rod against the bearing, and pull the bearing the rest of the way out. The force needed after the retaining ring is cracked is not very much, so a regular ratchet can pull the bearing out without problems. None of the abs sensors on the 6 hubs i worked on today could come out, and they were all fine. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase, and feel as if this tool will serve me well for a long time, as long as i keep i WELL greased. When you get the tool, thread the nut onto the threaded rod, to see if there are manufactoring defects. If the nut is too tight, send it back. Also - sometimes people get the wrong push rings. Again - just send it back. But if you get the tool, and the initial checks are ok, this is a gem. I seldom write reviews, but hope i can put some of the nervous purchasers (like me) at ease :) Again - GREEAAAASEE :)
