Electrician fitted these for me so can’t comment on how easy or difficult the installation is, but I love these lights behind our bookcases where they give plenty of light.

This light has great potential - it has a lovely appearance hiding most of the business end of the light fitting neatly behind it and installed correctly and well, it looks very chic and would work well in a minimalist setting or just in any room decorated in a modern style. I could see this in a bedroom, hallway, living room or study quite easily.This needs to be fitted by someone who knows what they are doing and my husband and brother-in-law got it up and running quickly, but at the moment it has the wire on show as we need to create a space for the wiring and plaster over it to make it look like there is no cable attached. This will improve the look 100 fold.This a wall light which must be wired into a light switch. It does not come on a wire and even if you put truncking in the wall it still doesn't have a switch to control it. I think this could only be installed as part of major remodelling works or in a hotel, or restaurant for example. There is no hole for a wire at the mid-point of the light so actualling running down inside the wall is the only way to fit it.I put mine on a wire and a plug for testing and it would have worked fine but I would have to switch it off at the wall each night, so I decided not to use it. This is due to the suitability of the light for my needs rather than a failing of the light itself. The brightness of the led strip was very sufficient and felt like 60watts in the old system. The warmth level of the light was good with it being warm white.ProblemsI had a problem with the wall bracket which failed to screw to the light after unscrewing it twice. I couldn't get the screws to bite into the screw hole and eventually gave up. The strength of the light itself was fine and I had no other problems with build quality.ConclusionBe aware of the suitability of this light for your own needs, most people would require a qualified electrician to wire it into a switch. The appearance of the light is excellent.

We moved into our house 21 years ago and the previous occupants had fitted long fluorescent 30 Watt light tubes in the two wardrobes in our bedroom. It's taken this long for me to replace one with a more modern light source - the 20 Watt wall up and downlighter. The fluorescent lights gave a horrid colour, hummed loudly, and I kept hitting mine with coat hangers as I removed clothing from my wardrobe. So these metal fittings represent a real upgrade.I'm very cautious when it comes to fitting electrical devices but I felt confident enough to handle this job without calling in an electrician. I had an earth, neutral and live wire coming into my old fluorescent fitting, coloured green/yellow, black and red. This LED fitting has green/yellow, blue and brown, and it's obvious which connect to which.The only tricky thing I found when installing this fitting was that my mains wire didn't emerge into the cavity behind the light, so I had to raise the angled metal mounting bracket away from the surface of my wardrobe in order to feed the mains wire to where it connects to the light.I was a little surprised that the light fitting attaches to the angled metal wall bracket using two fairly small screws that have been tapped into the metal bracket - I would have felt more confident if there were a pair of actual bolts, but in reality this hasn't caused a problem.Having fitted the light and turned it on it's a significant improvement over the old fluorescent light - a fairly nice warm white colour, and it shines out in both directions giving good illumination. It's kind of obvious that the light comes from a strip of individual LED lights, but I'm not complaining.The only improvement I'd make is that while I've come down from a 30 Watt bulb to this 20 Watt LED fitting, I would have liked to have saved even more energy.But the unit itself is made from good quality materials - mainly metal, and it feels like it's going to last.

I have placed this light in a newly refurbished garden room - a smallish area, but one well illuminated by the light which is by no means dim, without being glaringly bright. It looks stylish and modern, suiting the small room well.
