{review|
{My Thoughts} – Aphrodite is the Goddess of love and she believes that she needs to try and match make everyone she comes across. Sometimes she gets letters from others that are from Earth seeking her assistance in helping the fall in love with their true love. But when it comes to her own love life she’s not as good at match making. This book starts with Aphrodite convincing Athena to allow her and the others in the group to give her a make over so that guys will start to notice her. Athena agrees and they debut the make over at the next party on campus. All the boys seem to be head over heels for Athena, including Ares and that causes Aphrodite to become jealous because she is in love with Ares or thinks she is, but he hasn’t reciprocated those feelings back to her.It turns out the Athena’s new look attracts Ares and they start chatting and meeting together. Aphrodite isn’t happy about this newly found interest with Ares and Athena and she feels betrayed and hurt by her best friend. Aren’t best friends suppose to look out for one another and not take someone else’s crush right from under their nose. This causes Aphrodite to become upset with her friend and she starts to wonder who else is really just using her and not really her friend at all. She starts to question many things and if you’d like to know the answers you will need to read the book.I really enjoyed this book and I think that anyone that has felt betrayed by a close friend will enjoy this book. It shows that not everyone is bad and not everything is the way it at first glance appears. I enjoyed reading about how the Goddess Girls had worked through the things that had been bothering them and came to a logical conclusion of how to deal with things so as not to harm their friendship further. This was a wonderful read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Great new series
There is a lovely new series of books about the Greek goddesses as young girls entitled Goddess Girls. My review of ATHENA THE BRAIN is below. Please note although I haven't read this book I can tell you that in my school library this book is checked out constantly. I have multiple copies now and the word of mouth recommendations by the students themselves is amazing. Someone asks for it every day.The first one is Athena the Brain and it is adorable. Athena is living on earth being raised by mortals until she is summoned to Mount Olympus by her dad, Zeus. It is time for her to attend the academy and so she bids her best friend farewell and heads off to Olympus. There she meets Persephone, Aphrodite and Artemis ( each will have their own book) as well as Zeus, Poseidon, Pandora and more. Filled with mythology and creative earthy inventions (Athena invents olives in a science fair) this book is perfect as a prequel to The Lightning Thief series and for younger kids.

great
I have not read the Goddess Girls books. But heard of them and bought them for my daughter.Though I am avid reader, she has yet to discover the passion for books. And no, she does not have electronic items to play with. I am old fashion.I have bought her so many books, trying to get her involved. And this is what these books have done.I am finding her with these books in her hands and reading and telling me how much she loves the stories and how interesting they are. And she is asking questions about the mythology and the god's etc.Aha.. so that is why I am giving this book, these books 5 stars. She is hooked. She now wants the others and is asking what other books are out there. That she might like. Thank you for writing these. It has helped us. Wished I could write more about the style and story. But I really only wanted to share that they are great. Because a young girl is now reading .

Fun Mythology for the next generation!
For those who know Greek mythology they will notice the tells wove into a child's world in a fun way that keeps their interestes. In this book they touch on the story of Atlanta from the Goddess Aphrodite's side. I feel the plot is a little thin for myself but perfect for my child who the age group is ment for. I love this series and hope there are more to come!

Beautiful!
This is fabulous writing. it shows you who Aphrodite is in the story, who she likes, and who she is enemies and annoyed at. she likes Ares but her on off relationship with him doesn't help anything. She is the most beautiful girl in school so people fall for her. She is popular and cool. I would read it.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
Aphrodite the Beauty can teach you about not judging someone by what they wear. A lot of times Aphrodite judged Athena because Athena wasn't as pretty as Aphrodite. But then Athena gets a makeover from Aphrodite and the story changes. My favorite part was when Athena was all dressed up. The author did a good job saying how pretty she was. I could imagine her dress and her makeup.

I prefer the Fairy Tales series
I'm a sucker for fairytale/mythology retellings, but I didn't love this one. These authors have a similar series with fairytale characters that I think is much better than this one. Aphrodite has also never been my favorite goddess, so that might have affected my enjoyment of the story some. I did like that they stayed true to Athena and Artemis's characters, even though I initially didn't think they were going to.
