My daughter has been a goalkeeper for the last 4 years, and has always work the usual padded shorts up until a year ago when she decided she didn't like them anymore. I think the fact that they were loose made it less likely that the cushioning would actually protect her, and they were quite bulky which she found uncomfortable.For the last year she has worn normal football shorts only, but, due to training often, has gotten to the point of real pain and bruising to her thighs and hips.I found these and managed to convince her to give them a try. I'm so pleased she agreed!These sit nicely under her usual kit shorts, you can just see the edge poking out the bottom. They're tight fitting, but not restrictive at all. The padding is sufficient to protect her, but without being bulky and uncomfortable.She trains 5 times a week and has a game once a week, and we are now bruise free!We got Youth Large which is the perfect fit for her (age 13, approx UK size 6).Would definitely recommend
