My husband loved it, it was a great starter deck for mixing music.

Not too bad at all. Perfect size and lightweight.Hard plastic. (No more metal portable controllers for me) The pads are responsive. Some of the buttons are hard plastic..The pitch range is a lil short but very usable as is. Supposed to be able to adjust the range using a shift function. Its even got slip mode and the slicer function and built in high pass and low pass filter controls.(surprising on this unit).Internal Sound Card. Entry kit for some, just plain portable for me. I still prefer my big rig (Pioneer CDJ set up) but this lil beauty suffices and looks a bit better than some of the other portable controllers to me. Nice and flat looking; the slate Gray ' Oh and the platters are niiiceee. I wish the Slate had an LED marker in the middle of the platters or a light surrounding each for cueing w/o having to look at the software so much. I glance at it usually...so no biggie. The platters are responsive when backspinning, setting cue points and droppin in tracks. So far I like this controller a lot. I hope it is reliable. Remains to be seen.Otherwise, has what you need to mix and scratch some. This unit is for the beginner who ends up getting access to a widely used DJ program (Serato DJ Intro) and benefits from even greater functionality should he/she upgrade to Serato DJ . For the Pro DJ, the same applies yet you might not like the hard plastic chassis, non rubberized buttons, lack of gain control,level metering, xlr connections, ability to use as a stand alone mixer, etc etc...The market for this unit seems to be for the beginner DJ and the Professional who needs a lightweight, portable unit that has not just the basic functionality, but a little more to liven up a set. New to the Gemini experience. Looking forward to it.

Tried to gig a wedding. Nothing but issues. Don't know if the sun overheated it or what. Tracks locked up, or slowed down. Had to finally remove the controller and just run the music from my Mac. Luckily the wedding wasn't a complete disaster, but darn close.

Gemini SLATE 2-Channel Serato Dj Intro ControllerI love this little controller. I've been DJing now for 8 years and I think this is really going to improve the amount of tote that I have when I go and do gigs. Especially small gigs like house parties, family events, etc. It does everything my larger controllers do (DDJ-SX2, DDJ-SB2, Numark NS7, Numark V7's & Mixer). I could throw a party in a broom closet with this little controller. It's great for on the road gigs or practice on the road. It's USB powered so no additional cords. I recommend this for all DJs. My only gripe is the amount of grip or lack there of on top of each of the platters. It makes it a little hard to cut and scratch if that's something you're into for transitional purposes. Other than that, this controller is super cool. Go getcha one. Peace!!

This is a really great product. It works great and it's well made,I just need to give you some important information. This product doesn't come with its' own head set, so you need to get your-1/4 jack- headset. (Or you could just buy a jack adapter which is cheaper). Another thing is that the software that it comes with-Serato DJ intro- does NOT come with recording software. You will need to buy Serato DJ or subscribe to Serato DJ to be able to record your mixes. Other than that this product was great for me and I love to use it. It's a great way to have fun and you can take it anywhere with its' laptop size body.

It's ok for what it is. I wanted something small so when I'm in my bedroom, because trying to set up 2 turntables and mixer is a bit much. It does work, I just wish I didn't have to buy another license for the full version of serato dj for this thing.
