Laydown Layback License Plate Mount Kit for 1999-08 Harley Touring Models

I am using this on my 03 Ultra. I had removed the tour pak and the original license plate bracket looked out of place so.... after looking around, this one was nicely priced and fit perfectly. I used the original bolts to mount the bracket to the bike. The package came with nice chrome bolts with stop nuts to mount the license plate to the bracket. It gives a nice lay down profile without having to do any major mods to the bike and the license plate stays above the tail light so the legal lighting of the plate is still ok. I am not sure if I am going to be using the tour pak anytime soon but with the lay down feature, I cant imagine It will matter if tour pak is on or off. The bracket itself is chromed and very sturdy.

Second picture is the original plate mounting bracket, which may have come standard on my 1999 FLHRCI (not sure, the bike had several prior owners). It was designed to be secured to the luggage rack/passenger back rest that I removed. Bulky, and didn't really have the look I was going for without all the extra gear I took off. The first picture is with the new layback mounting bracket, which I think better suits the lines of the bike. Good quality metal, decent weight, and bolts seemed OK. Overall , an inexpensive way to clean up the rear fender. 👍

Used on my 2007 Road King when I added a Tour Pak. Fit is perfect and the piece is very solid, chrome appears quality (time will tell). Nuts and bolts are cheap so don’t cinch them down too tight. I reused my OEM fasteners with reflectors and wing nuts. Very easy install. I would buy again. Good piece for good price.
