Two coats is a must. Good coverage. One can was just enough for two props, shafts and Rutters. 29 ft wellcraft.

Petit Zinc Coat Barnacle Barrier spray paint is the only paint I have found (over 40 years) that can provide a reasonably good barrier for barnacles and other marine growth. I have been using it for probably 10+ years. I start by wire brushing my Max Prop and then spray 3 coats following the instructions on the can for wait times between successive coats. I also use it on my Vetus Bow Thruster Prop with good results.

I had a company paint my props with this and they lasted for almost 2 years in FL, so when I decided to switch from fixed to folding props, I bought 2 cans to paint my new props. Both nozzles plugged in less than two minutes. I was not even able to get one coat on everything. I was going to return the paint but Amazon says this cannot be returned. I contacted the seller for a refund and was told to contact Pettet. So, if you do buy this, and the sprayers gets plugged, know that you are on your own.If you have this paint and the sprayer is plugged, this is how to fix it. It is not the sprayer that is plugged. Remove the sprayer and use a nail to push down on the small tube in the top of the can. BE CAREFUL paint will go everywhere. Make sure you wear eye protection. You can then put the sprayer back on. I had to do this several times. When that would no longer fix the problem, I used the nail again and pointed the can at my props. Paint comes out fast, but at lest it is coming out!Would I recommend this. I will do a follow up on how well the paint holds up. If it works, I would buy the quart of pain and brush it on. I will never buy the spray cans again. Shame on you Pettit. You know this is a problem and are doing nothing to fix it!

Awesome product

One can clogged, can’t use

This makes it easy to just brush the growth off of hardwear and the prop. If you use your boat a lot you probably will not get hard growth when using this.

Hoping to get 2 seasons of coatings from can. Hoping for minimal growth. On everything except props (2x inboards)

This product is amazing and really works, I waited to write this review to see how it did this past summer and it really works!! I would purchase again and again!
