Mile Marker’s winch shackle mount replaces the conventional winch hook with a stronger and safer way to play. Our shackle mount with D-ring works with roller and hawse fairlead mounts and requires a 5/8" shackle for operation. Our systems are easy to install and remove. This shackle mount will fit synthetic rope and steel cable 5/16" and 3/8" in diameter. Mile Marker Industries has been in business for over thirty years, providing high quality, highly durable, hydraulic and electric winches, mounting systems, locking hubs, snatch blocks, shackles, tow and rigging ropes, recovery kits, vehicle accessories and more to off-road motorists.

It is not supposed to be a Factor 55!
I saw all of the complaints about this product before I bought it, and I was just thinking that, this is basically what I have always wanted to do anyway. This is rubber. It uses your eyelet on your winch line to go through your "D ring". A concept that really should have been done in the first place. You use your hook on your eyelet now so why not just make it look better, store better and keep your synthetic line out of the sunlight. I would like to see a smaller version for my SxS actually.

Cheap and looks good
Let's face it. This is NOT a $150 Factor 55 Prolink Shackle Mount. It IS a "visually pleasing" mount that still uses your current winch cable thimble as the hook point. All the pulling force is placed on your current thimble. This is nothing more than a visually pleasing rubber cover for the existing thimble. It's also a very effective way to carry your shackle and the rubber silences it completely. I knew this going in and spending less than $30 for this accessory was worth it.

Won't fit WARN synthetic thimbles!
I love the product idea and the quality is good but it is incompatible with any WARN synthetic winch ropes as the thimble is too big to fit. This is an important oversight. Maybe mile marker can make a WARN version. Even trying to use without the insert piece doesn't work as the thimble is too thick and then the shackle can't fit over the end to attach as the rubber gets stretched. I also have a no name Chinese synthetic rope and the thimble is smaller and fits just fine.

I like it
I like it.It's simple and its light weight. It has an adapter for steel or synthetic. I use it for synthetic. The pulling force is on on this component, its fully against the eyelet on your cable. I prefer this as it's less points to fail during recovery. This just allows it to enclose it to protect from weather and allows it to be pulled up to the fair lead. I leave my D ring on but it's not necessary as it holds tight without it.

Great product and value!
Ok, I'll start off by stating this is NOT a winch shackle mount per se. It is more of a cover to the end loop of your winch rope. With that said, this is really nice and beats spending $100+ on other products. It's is a very sturdy, sold piece of rubber that slips over the end of your synthetic or steel cable and acts as a stopper. If you ask me, I prefer this because it is one less failure point in your system because you are using the loop on your cable and not a shackle mount. Some bad reviews stating they didn't know it was rubber, but it says in description above AND on their webiste- made of rubber. Anyway, I would recommend this but only gave it 4 stars because we'll have to see if it holds up to the Texas heat.

Great Value for What It Is
What it is, and what it isn't. This is a great low-cost shackle mount. It is a hard rubber that fits over the end of your winch line. The eye and thimble slide into the mount. This is not a structural shackle mount like the factor 55. It is just a cover for the eye and thimble which still take all the load. It makes the winch line easier to handle (an easy place to grab the line by hand), allows you to reel your winch line all the way in without damage, and prevents the mounted shackle from rattling around. ** You must be able to remove the hook from your winch line to mount this. **

Perfect!
It’s a big block of rubber that makes it so my winch line can be snugged up when fully retracted, without damaging my fairlead, and doesn’t allow my shackle to flop around. All this without adding another link to my winch line. A 3/4” shackle worked great, but you could also just use a 1/2” soft shackle. I liked it so much, I bought two more.

Does as designed, but..
I use a shackle instead of a hook, so every time you take the shackle out, you have to hold this piece, hold the rop in place, and try to hold the shackle and feed the pin thru everything while holding everything in line. Being as this item does not hold the rope end loop in place, it can be a challenge at times. I think next one will have a pin securing the rope end and then the hole for the shackle separate.
