Soda Crystals (1kg / 2.2 lb Bag)

Be sure to use it with boiling water. You can flush the drain fully with very hot water, but to melt the grease or get the hair to really move, you need to use at least a liter of boiling water to melt it. I have an older home and the drains were running very slow. I used it in both the kitchen and the bathroom drains. 1 cup in the drain, pour in the boiling water, wait 10 minutes and then flush with really hot tap water (no cold water) for at least minutes. It also killed the funky smell in my drain. Now I pour 1/4 cup down each week and flush it with the hot tap water. No problems since. Great value and better for the environment. Works better than baking soda and vinegar.

The product came hard as a rock. I took a board, a mallet, a hammer to it. This broke some of it up but not to a fine powder. I kept breaking the plastic bag open. I had to measure it by chunks. The chunks didn't want to dissolve easily either. The bag has been sitting for months with maybe a 1/4 cup of powder and the rest is chunks. NOT WORTH THE TIME AND FRUSTRATION!! What you see on top is what is loose. The rest of the bag is solid.

Saw this used on youtube for cleaning chainsaw chains. I needed a cleaner to remove tree sap and other grime before sharpening them. The soda crystals exceeded my expectations. Some hot water, a few sprinkles of the crystals, let is soak a few minutes, brush off then rinse. Chains were cleaner than with any other product I tried. Very satisfied.

Works reasonably well for a deep fryer. I watched a YouTube video on using this product. It worked better in the video. You may have to break it up for use as about half the bag was hard caked on my order.

I bought these soda crystals because I read they are good to clean and deodorize drains. The problem is, they are in hard little chunks in the package. It's impossible to "sprinkle" rock hard chunks down the drain! I used a hammer to try and break them up. (A hammer was the only thing strong enough to break them.) What I ended up with is a broken package and soda crystals all over the place. And there were still lots of rock chunks! This is not an effective method to clean drains. I will go back to my previous method of baking soda and heated vinegar. I guess I should return this, because it is very expensive for what you get. I won't do that because it is now open and used, but it is very tempting! I do not recommend this product.

Doesn't seem to clean any better than other products. Turned solid and hard to use now so I guess I should have stored it in an airtight container.

After trying other drain cleaners with no success I decided to try Soda Crystals and it worked beautifully. I am determined to never be without a supply of this great stuff again! My drains even smell clean. Thank you.
