Was impressed with the reviews and ordered one. Looks and feels like a much pricier product, this is no cheap Cross. It's finish, shiny metal parts, the weight, moving parts, etc is simply first class. It feels like a pen designed by Audi for customers of its cars! Writes brilliantly, the ink flow and smoothness is right up there with the best. It does however have a peculiar aberration, I'm not sure if I should call it a problem. The pen has been designed so that the pen's pocket clip latches on to the breast pocket (mens shirt) with a good one and a half inches of the pen protruding out of the top of the pocket. It looks strange and disrupts the smooth flow of a work shirt, not really the sort of thing for an executive or management level staff. But women and men who carry the pen in a bag or who wear a jacket to work may have no issue with that. Still, for me, that takes away one star. I find it strange that no one has written of this before and I will try to upload pictures with the Cross and my regular Sheaffer pen in my pocket. The opening and closing mechanism, while unusual, is very intuitive and I've became accustomed to it. It was initially tight, but has now loosened up, yet it takes a bit more effort to get the tip fully extended. Still, once extended, the tip stays true and doesn't collapse on writing no matter what the pressure. All in all, a keeper.

Der Cross Edge Rollerball ist ein wirklich schönes Schreibgerät, das durch seine dickere Form besser in der Hand liegt als die meisten anderen Stifte. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der innovative Ausfahrmechanismus: Man zieht an der oberen Hälfte des Stiftes, damit die Mine herauskommt, und drückt sie wieder zurück, um sie einzufahren. Dieses ungewöhnliche System ist nicht nur praktisch, sondern macht auch Spaß. Die Tinte ist dokumentenecht, und durch die Gelmine ist das Schreiben mit weniger Druck leichter und angenehmer. Die Qualität überzeugt auf ganzer Linie, und es macht Spaß, ihn zu benutzen. Ich habe mittlerweile fünf dieser Stifte gekauft, und alle Familienmitglieder, die einen bekommen haben, nutzen sie sehr gerne. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Blaue und schwarze Minen sind problemlos erhältlich, aber die angeblich verfügbaren roten und lila Minen sind leider nirgends lieferbar. Fazit: Dieser Stift ist definitiv die volle Punktzahl wert. Er ist nicht nur ein Hingucker, sondern auch ein sehr funktionales und hochwertiges Schreibgerät, das ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen kann.

Excellent ball point pen with signature Cross durability and quality. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for excellent value for money in a pen of high quality and looks to impress.

Cross - my Nana bought me my first one aged 13 when I started secondary school. I'm 58 and I still buy Cross. My daughter just started University and I bought her her first Cross which she loves. This one is good but a little too thick for writing for long periods. I work in a hospital and have to write notes. The gel flows but I find myself needing to re adjust my hold often. This is a plastic body so different to the original metal. An elegant pen.
