Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, Blue

I bought the Dyson Animal in 2007 and had it for 10+ years. It was still fully functional but was just getting too heavy and cumbersome for me to use in my small apartment. I was able to sell my old, fully working dyson (which still had amazing pick up btw) for $75. I sold a few other household items and then, I was able to buy my dyson at a great price here on amazon. :-) I also have a small ergorapido vacuum but i was getting extremely frustrated at how poor the suction was. It is essentially useless and was a waste of $100. I am trying to sell that too but alas, no one is biting!! Not surprised there!!! First off, it was better than Christmas when this new dyson arrived. The boxing was impeccable and each piece is high quality. I was very excited to use my vacuum because my apartment had not been thoroughly deep cleaned in a while!! The old dyson being way too difficult for me to maneuver with my back problem and the ergorapido being completely USELESS. My allergies were also really flaring up with all the dust!! So, the first time I used the V11 I was extremely impressed with the pick up capacity. I was able to clean the vacuum my entire apartment, with base boards and detailing of dusty furniture and blinds, in under 45 minutes one morning before I went to work. I couldn't believe how much dust there was but already my eyes and sinuses are LESS itchy. I emptied the canister twice because I picked up so MUCH DUST. Although it was slightly heavier than I was anticipating, it is MUCH lighter and easier to maneuver than my old dyson animal. I didn't break a sweat like I did with the old dyson. It rolls very smoothly and the AUTO adjustable function between the rug and carpet saves A LOT OF TIME. I was able to clean so much more in less time because I wasn't messing with a cord and switching between the different functions constantly. I was able to complete EVERYTHING on one charge of course with plenty of time to spare. I love all the attachment heads that come with it. I am also VERY much looking to keeping my car more clean on a regular basis now that I have a portable vacuum with great attachments as well! I also really like the feature where you can remove the roller from the side of the vacuum head. I have long hair and wanted something that I would be able to easily remove the hair! I was unable to unscrew the side of it easily but that was ok because I was still able to pull the hair out pretty easily, much more easily than other vacuums I have used in the past. CAVEATS: Make sure to empty the vacuum BEFORE there is too much stuff in it! Debris WILL get caught if it goes above the line! I had to spend a little time really getting the canister cleaned out before I started round 2 because my hair got caught above the line! Next time, I will empty it sooner! Vacuuming just got so much easier I barely even noticed how much I was really picking up so fast! Now that my apartment is so clean, the V11 will make it much more enjoyable and easier for me to maintain a cleaner home. I will be vacuuming more frequently now to maintain areas because of the ease of using the vacuum. It is a highly effective vacuum and there isn't much of a need to have to run the vacuum over multiple times in one location. It picks up what it rolls over very well. For installation of the hanging charging station on the wall, make sure you have a drill on hand to make the holes for the screw to go into! It didn't say that in the directions but you will need a drill to make the pilot holes! :-) I love that you can hang the vacuum out of sight just about anywhere near an outlet! I am VERY pleased with my purchase and my dyson upgrade! I can see this one lasting me at least another ten years which to me is worth it, considering my last one was still going for over 10+! I also love the interface. It is a really really COOL vacuum and it was worth the effort to let go of my old dyson for a new one!

I am writing this review from the perspective of someone who is in a wheelchair. I am paralyzed: I have no abdominal support, and my hands are weak—like 50% strength (C7 complete). I'll also mention that my house is carpeted, so that is its primary use. I'll leave performance reviews for others who have done much more testing than me (there's some great resources out there... a surprising number really). Upsides: First, let me say this: if you're in a wheelchair, corded vacuums are out of the question. They're heavy, they're unwieldy, and the cord gets in the way all of the time. Thus, you need a battery-powered vacuum, in which case you're probably getting a lightweight stick vacuum. Stick vacuums are your best option if you're in a wheelchair. There's no cord to get in your way, and they're light enough to where you can just vacuum with one hand and maneuver yourself with the other. Maintenance is not an issue: it's easy to empty the waste receptacle, and it's easy to clean the filter. When it comes to using the extension stick or leaving it off, I actually find it's easier to attach the power head directly to the vacuum and just lean over/forward to vacuum. This is an option that the Dyson V11 gives you, which other non-adjustable vacuums do not. If you're low to the ground (perhaps because you're short or because you're in a wheelchair) then you might not want all that extra length of the "stick" attachment, since it forces the head to protrude too far forward, which hurts leverage and becomes unwieldy. In contrast, if you live with a normal-bodied person who also uses the vacuum, then they probably want the stick on, so it's good to have the option to leave the stick on/off when using the power head, which this vacuum offers. Downsides: To keep the weight down, the waste receptacle is quite small. This means you'll have to empty it frequently. This is a problem inherent with just about all stick vacuums, so it's something you'll just have to accept. At least you don't have to purchase bags. The dust filter seems to get dirty very quickly (I have a dusty old house with two pets, so your mileage may vary). This is a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand, it's tedious to have to clean the filter so often (like after every full-home vacuuming). On the other hand, it's quite effective at filtering dust, which is a good thing (less dust is expelled into the air). It's easy to remove and clean the filter, so no issues there. To use the vacuum, you must hold the button at all times. This is intended to conserve battery power, but it makes using the vacuum more difficult, especially when you have limited hand function like me. Luckily, however, you can buy a "button lock" from a 3rd party manufacturer for Dyson vacuums. However, it'd be nice if they just had a click on/off method instead. -- In sum, I'd say a stick vacuum is the best option for someone who is disabled and/or in a wheelchair. This Dyson was very expensive, but I have no buyer's remorse. It's very good just on its own merits, and it's great for me.

I had a cordless Dyson for about 10 years before it developed any sort of problem but since it was so old, I decided to not have it repaired (I live in a town which doesn't have any sort of Dyson repair place) because it would mean traveling too far to get it fixed and would require a couple of trips. Instead, I opted to replace it with a cordless vacuum which was not a Dyson and was cheaper. The new one lasted about a year.....won't do that again. I can spend almost $150 a year and buy a cheaper cordless vac or I can buy the best and have it last a whole lot longer. I opted for the latter and I am delirious with my decision. I'm telling you, the Dyson V11 Animal has far exceeded my expectations. It has super suction and I love the way you can select auto adjustment from hard floors to carpet or you can leave it on what you want if you don't want to do that. It is so easy to use yet is powerful beyond belief. Yeah, it was a little pricey but not if you want THE BEST. I have 2 Dyson canister vacuums (one for each end of the house) but I find myself grabbing the V11 Animal more frequently. It even sounds powerful yet it is not very noisy. I LOVE IT!!!! It cleans like crazy. It is definitely worth the price. I'll stick to Dyson from now on....no more less expensive cordless vacuums for me....HOORAY DYSON!!!!!!

Perhaps this deserves a four star.. but that depends on you.. If you are a small women for example with weak wrists and hands.. its not for you. The unit is relatively heavy and even for me after a few rooms my arm and wrist were feeling it... But.. i gave it five star.. because its' awesome! The head is huge, so you can do a whole room in half the normal time. It also senses if you are on flooring or carpet and adjusts its suction. the battery meter is super accurate and it comes with a spare battery pack so great value. I don't know why you would need a spare though because even one battery will last longer than your wrist can hold this monster up for! Maybe tape your wrist like a boxer if you plan to do the whole house.. but for as long as you can tolerate holding it I promise its the best vaccum you'll ever use... and I've had like 5 dysons, i promise this is the best one they've made to date. Suction is amazing, its not too loud at all, it holds lots of dirt, and the head is super large and ergonomic. We love it

Lieferung war superschnell und Alles kam gesund an. Der Sauger holte noch erschreckend viel Staub Haare und sonstige Reste aus unserem Wohnzimmerteppich der mit unserem herkömmlichen Markengerät vorher noch gesaugt wurde. Billig ist das Teil nicht, hat einiges an Zubehör das wie der Sauger selbst robust verarbeitet ist. Wir haben endlich unseren Sauger gefunden!

En precio de venta es totalmente exagerado. Al efectuar la compra pensé que era un modelo muy superior y vendría con más complementos de limpieza.

Great suction and battery length, ideal for muti-surfaces.

Was dieses schlaues Gerät alles kann, ist einfach klasse. Katzenhaare werden auf allen Teppichen und Polstern sogar im Bett sehr gründlich weg gemacht. Ich habe am gleichen Tag mein Staubsauger 1700, was ich 10 Jahre benutzt habe, ins Keller weg gebracht und nutze jetzt für alles nur Dyson. Eigentlich habe ich Dyson nur fürs zwischendurch um Katzenhaare zu entfernen gekauft. Ich bin komplett begeistert. Man kann alle Flächen damit sehr gut und sauber machen. Ich hoffe es bleibt auch so, weil das nimmt mir sehr viel Arbeit ab. Die Saugfähigkeit wird von dem Kopiuter wunderbar angepasst und dieses schlaues Ding hat es geschafft mein IKEA-Tepich supper sauber zu reinigen. Das hat mein alten Staubsauger niemals geschaft. Ich habe früher ganz viele Fusselrollen für die Polstern und Teppiche benutzt. Jetzt nicht mehr!!! 5 bis 10 Minuten und es ist alles Staub- und Katzenharre frei, wirklich unbeschreiblich gut. Pure Hochtechnologie :)))
