RJS LICORICE Natural Mango Licorice Logs, 7 OZ

I was spending overnights with a family member who was in the hospital and I was looking for a somewhat health treat to get me through the nights and came across this product at a Whole Foods store. Decided to give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised, it is delicious. The mango flavor is strong, not just a hint of flavor. It's not overly sweet and no sour taste. It's just right texture of firm and chewy, a bit softer than a Twizzler. Price aside, the one con in my opinion is each piece finishes with a wax after taste, but I guess thats from the licorice part. I've since bought many bags of this candy and recently tried the Raspberry flavor. While the Raspberry does taste like Raspberry, I didn't like it so sticking with Mango.

I like a good mango and the flavor was definitely there. Once you first just place licorice piece very subtle until you chew and a nice burst of mango flavor is there to please. Will buy again 👍

Buy it! Not licorice in any way but if you like real fruit flavor chews you will love it.

It smells unpleasant, and that scent can be tasted to a small but noticeable degree. There is very little mango flavor but it can be tasted after chewing for 10 to 15 seconds. It is Australian style so, in comparison to American style, it is harder, less sticky and lasts longer. In my opinion it has a more satisfying chew. The package says 'plant based' and 'palm oil free.' I believe this is the case with the vast majority of licorice brands. The package says 'soft chewing' but don't be fooled - it is much harder to chew than standard licorice. Health conscious people may want to be aware of the fact that it contains sunflower oil which is a seed oil high in omega-6 fatty acids. Some suspect that seed oils are related to the development of cancer and chronic diseases. Studies seem to confirm this but there is not enough evidence to conclude this with certainty.

Personally speaking, I prefer the raspberry for the flavor, but the mango is still very good when it comes to flavor and the texture between the two of them is equal in their greatness. If you enjoy soft candies and want to be a little more health-conscious, these are a good option to try out. Keep in mind, your wallet will not appreciate it.

OMG. I absolutely cannot have this licorice in my cupboard. I can eat an entire bag of it in three days flat. It is so yummy. The pieces are small enough that you don't feel guilty eating it. And you definitely don't feel guilty having a second piece. And you only feel a little guilty having a third... and, well, you see the problem. I can only buy this once in a while, otherwise I will be a cow.

These were so hard they were inedible, most probably because the expiration date was only a few months away. The other bag I ordered (black licorice) had an expiration of over a year from now, so I'm guessing the mango bites, after sitting for so long, just went stale. They should use shorter expiration times.
