This is my second pair of Maui Rippers. The first pair are nice but fit a bit snug in the butt and legs. I am a bigger guy at 6'4" and 240 lbs so I ordered the 40s. The waist is perfect and there is extra room in the butt and legs making for a great fit. As these are not the stretch fit like my other pair, that room is necessary for a comfortable fit when sitting or moving around. These are now my favorite boardshorts out about 10 random pairs. Highly recommend.

I liked the way these looked online, and was happy to find that they looked and fit as expected. They are comfortable and seem well made. I wore them while snorkeling almost every day for a week and experienced no chaffing. Best feature is the lack of front pockets. (Front pockets on swim trunks are a stupid idea but it is hard to find ones that don't have them.)

I normally wear a 38. Several reviews mentioned that these ran small so I ordered 40. They look like a gunny sack On a stork. Granted not as fit as I once was but that’s Not the pants fault. 38’s would’ve fit fine I’m 6-1 and 225 pounds. Pants seem to be built for stout. Comfortable fabric I am going to order a pair of 38’s and see what happens. I guess I’ll keep the 40s or donate them if I lose a couple pounds. Great quality though.

Nice shorts, they look like they will last, good fit. Embroidery looks good.However two of three pairs I received had the label plastic T-connector sewn INSIDE the waist hem rather than through the fabric like normal, as if they tagged the leg when the shorts were half made, then sewed on a hem over the tag. So whether you pull or cut the tags, the 1cm plastic end-T piece that held the tag remains in the waistband to poke you every time you wear them, unless you unhem the waist to get it out, snip a hole in the fabric, or do what I did - sit there for 20 minutes per pair with a needle, gradually stretching the thread of one stitch hoping you don't ruin your $45 shorts, until there is enough of a gap to slip the tag T-connector out of the hem.
