Tuner works great
I listen to Sirius radio in my car, and wanted to get it in my house. Yes, it requires a second subscription, but I called Sirius and they were very helpful in activating and pricing my second account. The manual tells you the direction the antenna is supposed to face. In my case, I was not able to place the antenna in the correct direction, and it's currently facing exactly opposite to what was recommended through a very small window in my living room. To my surprise, I get an excellent signal and have no issues whatsoever with listening to Sirius radio in my home. I highly recommend this device.

OK, at first...Updated: Now Ok
My original unit worked about 1 year then died. Just sent back the replacement unit to Amazon as it didn't work out of the box. I'm going to look for a different solution from somewhere other than Sirius. UPDATE: 06/02/12 - Purchased this same unit again in the hopes that my original replacement was just a lemon and it has worked perfectly for almost a year now. We'll see if the lifespan is more than a year.UPDATE: 03/29/14 - Died again...almost 2 years this time.

No benefit
SiriusXM is mutually exclusive. Sirius does not recognize XM as far as a product new activation is concerned. I have XM in my auto. I purchased a Sirius Home Tuner add-on for my home a/v receiver. When I called SiriusXM to add the new purchase to my XM account, I was informed that the Sirius item could not be combined on a XM account to get a discount. They wanted an additional $150+ dollars per year to activate the tuner. I returned the tuner to Amazon without a problem.

Impressed with Reception Received
I purchased this accessory for my Sirius xm ready Yamaha receiver, which is a discontinued model. I have a Sirius internet radio in my kitchen and service in my car and wanted to access Sirius through my audio system in my living area without internet. I thought I would have trouble getting a signal from the Antenna because my windows are too far from my audio cabinet to run wires that far (and no walls to run them against). I placed the antenna up high on my speaker tower, facing outward and centered between 2 windows, my dining area on the left(east) and my living space on the right(west). Even though the instructions said I needed to face North or South in my area, I am receiving surprisingly good sample reception indoors with my shades open from the top. Yes, you have to pay for the service, but I was told that you get a big advantage. With internet service only, I know you can listen only on one device at a time, either the computer, or on the internet radio. With the satellite service, two people can listen. Someone can be in the living area listening, and another person can be using the internet service . I haven't bought the new service yet, that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I haven't decided yet if I will use it enough to warrant added expense. (Just a reminder that how much it will cost also depends on which package you purchase ),In the meantime, I am pretty impressed with the Tuner Receiver and would recommend anyone to try it.

Great way to add trouble free music to your home...
I have SiriusXM radio in my car, and when I got a new tuner/receiver for my vacation home, I wanted to have a easy way to have music play all the time. I could have connected my MP3 player to the tuner, but I'd have to get the playlists set up, and get everything sycned up. All I wanted was easy, simple music to play. When I bought my receiver, I noticed that it said "Sirius Ready" -- I accidently purchased a "XM" antenna/tuner, which I returned. After some research I found this, which has the proper connector for a "Sirius Ready" tuner/amp.I live in a somewhat wooded area, and I have had no major issues with satellite reception. I have placed the antenna on the window sill which has a partially obstructed view of the sky. I may get reception issues at most 2 times per day which usually last about 15-30 seconds long, and this is with playing music about 6-8 hours per day.The device is simple to set up. Plug in the power, plug in the antenna, place the antenna in view of the sky, plug into the receiver/amp. The account set up was also easy, and the time from unboxing to enjoying music was about 10 minutes. In addition to the account for this device, I opted to get the internet music service as well, and I'm glad I did -- It is great for listing to music at work, and there is an app to use the internet music service for iOS and Android as well.I have a lot of friends that have complicated MP3 player, media storage rigs, and all kinds of whacky setups for their music. I chose this for having something simple that I can just turn on and enjoy music.

SCH1
I purchased this one to replace the one I bought a few years ago.I think the other 1 got banged up.I only bought this one because I kept gettin email from Sirius. So,I decided to purchase SCH1 from Amazon because it was the cheapest I seen it for.I had a problem at 1st because Sirius activated under a different account I had. After that account was fixed,it works perfectly in the basement. It works perfectly & it's NOT near no window.I don't know if it will work for everyone. But I do reccomend this product only with 6month subscription for $25 unless you listen to music alot.I really only listen to 2-3 stations.

Sound quality not great
The newer tuners sound better, but this one allows diy interfacing.

Never worked
I ordered two separate replacement units and neither worked upon arrival. My first/original unit lasted for about 2-3 weeks after the warranty. I don't think these are very well made and are not built to withstand any length of time.
