The Message Remix Bible: Complete Bible MP3 CD – Unabridged, October 16, 2008

This is a great value. It's the whole Message Bible on audio CDs, each chapter in its own MP3 file.I turned it into audio books to make it easier to listen to and bookmark. I used the free Mac app Audiobook Builder and made nine audio books using the same file organization as the MP3s: Moses, History, Poetic, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets, Gospels and Acts, Pauline Letters, Other Letters, and Revelation.Unlike reading, listening to The Message isn't hard; it's like stepping into an epic! This has opened up my appreciation for The Word like never before. I highly recommend it.So you won't get so enthusiastic that you buy both CD sets like I did, here's the difference between the two. The Message Bible CD set is excellently narrated in its entirety by Kelly Ryan Dolan. When I bought this set I thought: (1) I could play it on my 2005 Toyota car CD player. Sorry, I guess it lacks MP3 capability; (2) I could play it on my fairly new CD/DVD player in my entertainment center. Well I can, but I have to just listen from beginning to end of very long segments, no chance to listen to a few sections and then continue on later from where I left off; (3) I could copy it over to CD's using my computer software. Well I really could, but, as one current reviewer points out, it would require something on the order of 50 (or more) CD's -- not practical.The only thing I have that will play the CD's satisfactorily is my computer, so on my next trip, I will probably take one of my laptops and some ear phones.The content is excellent, but the person who set up the system to suggest that you buy the Remix version AND standard Message Bible I think has not listened to them. Thus far, the only difference I have observed between the two products is that the Remix version has some pretty good additional items.

I bought this bible and the Audio CD's. This made the bible come to life for me and made me grow deeper in my faith. I understand it's not a study bible and the KJ Version is better for that purpose but for someone who has wanted to get into the bible for a long time, but lost interest several times with the KJ wording, finally finding The Message series it was truly a Godsend !! Now that I have the basic understanding I am encouraged to dig deeper by consulting a King James Version bible.Thank you Eugene H. Peterson for making this version available and for spending the years it took to put it together, to get it into the hands of many grateful Christians !

The Message has taken the bible community by storm with it's easy to understand & comprehend paraphrase which allows the listener to FINALLY understand a little better what the scriptures are trying to convey. I know it's not translated from the original Hebrew & greek texts per se, but at least it's giving people who normally wouldn't open a bible at all a chance to do so in a friendly manner opposed to not cracking a bible open at all! Once their attention is gotten then it's up to them whether or not to pursue the scriptures in a more educated manner. And, with the addition to a plethora of fine readers it makes for an even more entertaining approach to the scriptures than having just one person read it all. I have it on my mp3 player now for easy access!

This is the first "The Message" Bible I've owned. I love this Bible!!! I love to just sit down and read it, specially the Old Testament. It has really helped me to understand the stories through a more human perspective, to see how the Biblical characters relate to me and how God was working through their situations. I love how it reads like a regular book, and it makes you interested in what has going on. I had never read my Bible as much. Of course, study Bibles are terrific. I still use mine. But for daily devotional, this is definitely what you want! As for the book itself... What you see is what you get. The size is great, the leather feels good... No complains.

The message can be very enjoyable as it puts the Scriptures into comtemporary spoken language. Sometimes it speaks the Word of God in a way that is much easier to understand. Sometimes it departs from the original intention.I would recommend to never consider it a Study Bible. Read it second as a way to look for clarification.A good thought for thought translation which is easy to understand and more faithful to the original language is the New Century Version.

This paraphrase Bible captures the heart of the Word. To me the Message is better listening to then in printed word. My most favorite translation is the old Living Bible. Compare passages to NKJ for accuracy. But for the poetry of God this is awesome. The MP3 version is inexpensive and very compact but you need a Disk MP3 player like a newer car stereo or a computer.

I find it so refreshing and it is super easy to understand, with the many brother,s and sister,s speaking, it is exciting and alive in Him, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, Jesus. I am still reading as i listen along What a good and greater work for our Lord and Savior, King Jesus. I had heard 'snippets' from the 'Message' & am delighted with it - so up-to-date.Yes, it's sometimes 'American' but if you can bypass that, it is useful to compare with other versions of the bible when studying passages.Very thought provoking!It is easy to read, infact I have started at Genesis 1, fully intending to read right through to the back cover (Revelation 22:21)

Excelent job guys did here! I love the voices and background music.If you like the Message Bible and want to hear them in audio book, this is it. I put them in my laptop, cellphone and cloud. I can hear everywhere.

I have always wanted to read the bible and after many attempts I gave up. The message was not clear to me, and I couldn't apply what I was reading to my life. But The Message Remix helps me apply the gospel to my life and has helped me understand more clearly the message.
